*Meli's pov*
No surprise I heard from Phil maybe once a week...I finally just gave up trying...Joe and I moved in together and I insisted on setting a room up for Lilly which Tessa was thrilled about....today was Joe's family's party I sat watching Katlyn run around the yard with Lilly and the other kids..I smiled at Patricia as she handed me a glass of tea "Thank you.."
Patricia smiled "Seems like yesterday it was all you guys hanging out back here after school...now its your children."
I smiled softly "Yeah."
She nodded "I'm glad you two found your way back to each other granted it happened because of well you know."
I gave her a small smile "Me too but you live and learn.."
Patricia nodded "Does Katlyn sense any of it?"
I shook my head "Thankfully no...I just dont know how to explain it if Phil does walk away.."
She patted my knee "You of all people know exactly how to handle that...you are still that same strong girl who stole my son's heart all those years ago...now you're a mom..you got this sweetheart."
I nodded "I feel like an idiot for not realizing it that I stayed where I wasn't happy...I never realized how unhappy I was until it was over."
Patricia nodded "It happens to the best of us Meli...you did what was best for you and your daughter...I've known you a long time and I'm getting to know you as a mom..."
I smiled softly "I could always come to you when I couldn't go to my mom..I'm glad I can do that again."
She nodded "You're good for Leati...you always were...him and Tessa just weren't good for each other and they tried for the wrong reasons granted I have a beautiful granddaughter but they weren't happy because.."
I sighed "Because of me."
Patricia sighed "Because he never got over his first love....you."
I smiled softly "Ditto."
She smiled "Yeah."
I raised an eyebrow as Joe walked over with Katlyn and Lilly "What's wrong?"
Roman chuckled "Well we got a question for you...well our girls have a question for you."
I raised an eyebrow looking at the girls "And what would that be?"
Lilly smiled a big grin "Meli will you marry my daddy?"
I looked at her then at Joe "What?"
He sat Katlyn down and got on one knee in front of me "Its only been 7 months but you know me better than anyone...you're the love of my life...my soulmate...so Melanie Scarlett Calaway will you marry me?"
I looked around everyone was watching..I smiled and nodded "Yes."
Roman slipped the gorgeous princess cut ring on my finger letting his forehead rest again mine "I love you."
I let my hand rest on his cheek "I love you too."
He pressed a light kiss to my lips
The rest of the party was great...I opted to help Patricia clean up by doing the dishes while she played with the girls..I bit my lip I felt Joe's hands on my hips "Stop.."
Roman kissed my neck "I love you."
I smiled "I love you too.."
He chuckled "My mother called yours."
I laughed "And how did that go?"
Roman let his chin rest on my shoulder "From what I could hear she thrilled."
