I had said goodbye to Ruby and Jamal after a few more hours of hanging out and goofing off.

Im sure Monse and Cesar were probably choppin it up so i dedcide to delay my trip home. Instead- i chose to walk to Courtland's house.

It wasn't to far of a trip. The corner store was maybe a block or two from his house so i stopped there first for snacks.

"Hey Mr. Robins. How's it going?"
I said as I strolled into his store

"Hey youngin'. Its going fine- slow night though. How was your first day? I know you kids were excited"

He was busy stocking shelves so he didn't exactly look my way while talking

"Mr. R... you don't even want to know" I laughed a bit recounting how the day went.

Just then I hear another person walk in.

I look over from the drink aisle to see a tuft of curls.

What did i do to have this mf be everywhere-

"Hey Finney." Latrelle says his smile going from ear to ear

(yall gone find this mad weird but you ever get phantom smells? Like smelling something that aint there? Well i got a guess as to what Latrelle smells like cuz i caught one while typing his name- Its like sandalwood/teakwood and maybe whatever flavor of backwoods/papers he likes)

"Hello demon" I charged a fake smile his way

"You're still mad at me for that, its the past"

"It was literally 13 hours ago-"

"Aht- 'AGO'. Meaning previously- meaning.... get over it" He smiled at me and proceeded to continue shopping.

I cant stand his coco puff head ass-

i paused mid thought as I heard gun shots ring throughout  the store.

My heart dropped. I looked for the safest, most barricades part of the store and stayed close to ground.

As i navigated around the aisle, i hear the door ring- someone came in or Mr Roberts left-

I was worried for the store owner so I almost peaked out but I never made it too far

Latrelle yanked my jacket sleeve and pulled me toward him.

I stared at him but before he can hear my mouth, he hushes me and drags us lowly toward the back

Once we're by the storage, he opens the closet and shoves me in. He was preparing to tell me something until we heard yelling and more shots rang out
