[BELL TONE SOUNDS] 

"Breathe..." Alaric said.

"Ric what are you doing?" Damon said laughing as everyone else chuckled while Alaric looked embarrassed. 

"Dad,  this is lame." Lizzie said.

"You nearly gave Lexi a tracheotomy with a bread knife. Humor me." Alaric said

 [BELL TONE SOUNDS, INHALES LOUDLY THROUGH NOSE]

"You know, I could just whip up a remedy with some herbs from the bio lab." Lizzie said

 "No. No. No magic. Your magic gets you into these states, and I want your mind... to get you out of them." Alaric said

 [EXHALES] [INHALES]

"Dad? Do you think I'm broken?" Lizzie asked sadly.

"Of course not. I think your biological mother's crazy-ass witch ancestors left you with a legacy of darkness that you have to work through." Alaric said softly.

"But Josie and Lexi doesn't have freak-outs." Lizzie said

"What does it has to do with Lexi?" Stefan asked 

"Josie spends a lot of time worrying about other people's happiness. It's a supernatural phenomenon called co-dependency, and I'm pretty sure she got it from my side of the family. And Lexi just bottles up her feelings as her father did. And you know what happened because of it." Alaric said

"Who's your father?" Elena asked

"You'll see." Lexi said.

 "I just...I don't ever want to hurt anybody." Lizzie said

"I know that, honey. That's why we opened this school, to learn control, which is why I'm here now to help, okay?" Alaric said

"I'm surprised that you have time, what with all of the private training sessions you've been doing with Hope Mikaelson and Lexi." Lizzie said

"Maybe if you made friends, we could do group training." Alaric said

"I've tried to be her friend when I was five and when I was nine and when I was thirteen. She never makes any effort. And Lexi is always with her." Lizzie said

"She has lost a lot, and you know that. They both have. They're just afraid to let themself care." Alaric said. 

"Boo-hoo. Everyone in here has lost something. She doesn't hold the patent on it." Lizzie said 

"Breathe. Breathe." Alaric said

[INHALES LOUDLY]

 [EXHALES LOUDLY]

 [KNOCKING AT DOOR] 

 [SIGHS]  "Come in.[DOOR OPENS] Speak of the actual devil." Lizzie said as she saw Hope.

"Sorry to bother. Um... I'm feeling kind of restless. I kind of need a release." Hope said.

"What release? If I may ask Hope" Elijah asked. Hope just looked away. Lexi and Henrik hold her hand.

"Uh... back acres. But stay away from the Old Mill. Heathens are having a secret party I'm gonna break up in ten minutes." Alaric said

"Thanks." Hope said going away.

"I'm missing a party?" Lizzie asked jaw dropped.

Henrik was in his room playing video games when someone knocks.

"Hey" Lexi said entering the room with food.
