"I didn't even know we still had these."

"Well yeah, this is the first year our house isn't being professionally decorated."

"Ok ok," Mom called across the house, "You try decorating a house that size. It was a big job!"

"Well for the record," I said, holding up a handmade ornament from my childhood, "I prefer these decorations way more."

She smiled at this.

"You know? So do I." She answered. I chuckled, continuing to unpack the boxes full of Christmas decorations.

After my father was arrested, we all ended up staying with Eddie and Wayne until a trailer opened up in the park. They helped us acquire furniture within our collective price range, and pretty quickly...that trailer became more of a home to us than our mansion ever was.

I stood up from my seat at the kitchen table, walking over to our Christmas tree and putting my homemade ornament on it. I smiled, taking a step back and crossing my arms.

"Amber, I think lover boy's outside!" Andrew called.

"So what? He lives across the street, it doesn't always mean something when he's outside!" I called back.

"Yeah, but this time he's like, outside outside. Like, he's knocking on the door."

"Well then open it you dork, why are you telling me!' I exclaimed, jogging over to the front door and pulling it open. Sure enough, there was Eddie, his hands buried in the pockets of his leather jacket as he bounced on his toes due to the cold. "You don't have to knock you know."

I grabbed his arms, pulling him into the trailer and shutting the door behind him.

"What can I say? I'm a good boy, I have manners." I rolled my eyes at this.

"What can I do for you, Munson?" I asked, walking back over to the tree.

"I just wanted to stop by and give you...your Christmas present." My face lit up and I turned around to face him as he held up a package, crudely wrapped in pink princess wrapping paper. My smile fell and I crossed my arms, shooting him a look.

"Really? The Princess wrapping paper?" I asked. He just waved it towards me and I gave in, grabbing a large box from the floor beneath our Christmas tree and leading the way down the hall towards my bedroom. He followed me inside, shutting the door behind him and I sat down on my bed, drumming on the top of the box. "You first."

"Oh, nope. Uh uh, I came over here, with the intention of giving you your present, I get first dibs." He said. I shook my head.

"So? Mines bigger."

"So what?" I shrugged.

"I don't know. Size matters?" His jaw dropped and I laughed, holding out the box towards him. He sighed, setting my present down beside me and taking the box from me. He pulled my desk chair over to him, setting it down in the chair and peeling the paper off of it. He ripped the flaps of the box open, peering inside. He raised his eyebrows, glancing up at me. I bit my lip, nervously anticipating his reaction.

"I figured...if it is technically an official school club...it might be cool if you had some kind of club uniform." He reached into the box, holding up the baseball tee that was adorned in the Hellfire Club logo that I had hand drawn and converted into a t-shirt. "We can make different ones if you don't like them. The Hideout presses their own shirts for employees and extra sales and stuff so I can make different ones. I just thought-"

"Ok, stop with your nervous rambling," He said, glancing between me and the shirt, "Amber, this is...this is insane."

"Insane, as in..." I trailed off. He threw the shirt back in the box, walking around the chair to stand directly in front of me.
