"Because something doesn't feel right about her. Please cut all ties with her" David said calmly.

I sighed. "But she is the only friend I have" I said.

"No princess. You have Angel and Clyde even me" he said.

There is something Dave isn't telling me. I'll cut ties with her cos I cant choose a total stranger over my family.

"Princess" Dave called distracting me from my thoughts. I looked at him.

"You'll meet someone else. And you can be friends with James" he said.

"James?" I asked.

"Yes. The best student in grade 2" he replied.

The next day I told Kate I couldn't be her friend. She wasn't happy and I felt bad.

"It's okay. I saw it coming." She said sadly.

"What do you mean?" I asked. She looked away not saying anything.

"Kaythlin" I called.

"Just let it be." She said and walked to her seat.

I really wanted to know what was going on. But no one is saying anything to me.

I didn't wait for anyone before going to the cafeteria. I waited for them to arrive before I started eating.

"Why didn't you wait in class? And where is your friend?" Clyde asked.

I looked at Dave and he looked away. My eyes caught someone seating on the extra seat. He was staring at me but looked away when our eyes met.

"Kate isn't my friend anymore." I said.

"Thank God" Clyde muttered but I heard because he sat beside me.

"Princess, this is James" Dave said. I smiled at him.

"Nice to meet you James" I said and continued with my food. I finished my food and stood up to leave. James and Dave came after me.

"Princess wait" Dave said and I stopped but didn't look back. He stood in front of me and raised my head to look at him. "I'm sorry" he said before walking away.

"Lets go" James said and we walked to class.

As the days went by mum and dad gave me more attention than necessary.

I told mum to stop with the unnecessary care. She waved me off and said she's taking care of her daughter for as long as she could.

Things were not the same anymore. David was distant. He acted like he hated me. Mira stopped talking to me too.

I don't know why Dave became distant and no matter how much I tried he wont talk to me. Only Mira could talk to him and he stopped her from associating with me.

The years went by gradually but things didn't improve between David and I. I was more of a stranger than a sister.
Exactly what went wrong?

It was just James and I together. James and I became very close. He was always there for me. We stopped eating together during lunch.

We tried to solve the mystery behind David's sudden attitude but came up with nothing. Eventually we gave up and continued with life.

The book is about to get interesting.
