I laid in bed with a damp rag on my head. I felt hot and I was breathing heavily. I suppose it could've been karma for my lie to my mother, but I'd gotten sick. I've been in and out of sleep since the incident yesterday.

Both Adonis and the phantoms have been coming around every now and then to check on me. The phantoms also brought me medicine instead of the maids. It was so nice of them and I was extremely grateful to each of them.

I let out a cough when my door opened. In walked one of the phantoms. It was Salem. I smiled at him. He walked over to me, a platter in hand. He set the platter on my bedside table before helping me sit up. I reluctantly pulled myself into a sitting position.

He took the glass of water and medicine off the platter and held the meds out to me. I pouted a little before I took them and put them in my mouth. I forced myself to swallow, my throat hurting. I quickly coughed at the feeling and Salem put the glass of water in front of me.

I quickly took a sip and my coughing fit was over. "Thank you," I rasped out. He nodded at me and set the glass back onto the platter. He carefully pulled the rag from my forehead and placed his cold hand there. It was so relaxing, seeing as my body was so hot at the moment. I let out a sigh, closing my eyes. I was getting tired again, must've been the medicine working quickly. I felt myself slip into slumber.

"Adonis!" A woman's voice screamed. She had chains on her wrists and her raven dress was torn. She ran towards the dark haired man, stumbling.

His red eyes looked at her, his skull-like design on his face out in the open, even when the two were surrounded by a large crowd of people. They held torches and pitchforks, yelling out how they were evil. "Stay back, Kiara!!" The male shouted to the black haired girl.

She shook her head, continuing to fun after him. However, she stopped when she felt a sharp pain in her back and she gasped. She fell to the ground in pain and cried out. "KIARA!" Adonis exclaimed.

He roughly pulled on the arms of the humans holding him in place. He clenched his teeth, being unable to do anything as he watched the girl writhe in pain from the arrow in her back. He witnessed one of the villagers yelling at the archer, saying he wasn't supposed to shoot the woman.

Anyone else was too scared to get near her, for they believed she'd been possessed by the devil. Adonis looked around frantically. "PHANTOMS, aid us!!" He demanded. Swirls of Black dust flew through the air and six masked figures appeared from it. Three of them attacked the men holding the raven haired man back, either snapping their necks or choking them.

Two were helping Kiara and another, the blond with blue eyes, had stabbed an arrow through the abdomen of the archer. The two with Kiara were Elwin and Malachi. The raven haired phantom was working on pulling the arrow out while Elwin was silently comforting her.

When they were done, Adonis was immediately at her side. He ushered the phantoms away and he held her in his arms. Her head hung back, having lost her energy from the pain, so he braced it in his arm. "It hurts," she whimpered to the man.

"I know," he said quietly. He blamed himself for what had happened. If only he'd been more serious about the ritual. "Don't worry, you'll be-"

I was shaken awake by a hand on my shoulder. With blurry eyes, I looked up and saw a dark figure. From what I could make out it looked like Adonis. My face was wet with tears and it was unbearably hot.

I rolled over on my back, wiping my tears. "What's wrong with me?" I cried. "Why am I seeing all of this?" I continued.

Adonis ran his hand along my hairline, pulling my hair behind my ear. He had a face of empathy. "There's nothing wrong with you, my dear. Everything will be explained in due time. When you are ready," he explained vaguely.

I felt my eyes fill with tears again. "I don't want this. What am I supposed to be ready for?" I asked, feeling my tears run down my face.

He grabbed my hand in his and started running his thumb over it. "You'll find out soon," he whispered gently.

I didn't want to find out soon. I wanted to know now. I wanted to know why all of this was happening to me. Who were all of those girls? Did Adonis really love every one of them? Did he kill them? Is that what he's going to do to me? I whimpered at the thought.

Adonis continued to run his hand through my hair. "I won't let anything happen to you, Mora. I promise," he assured me. I sniffled.

I shook my head, closing my eyes. "Please. I want to be alone. Please just leave," I pleaded. I turned on my side and took my hand out of his. "Go," I insisted.

I heard him sigh and stand up. "If that's what you wish." It is. I want to be left alone. He walked away and out of my room, gently closing the door behind him.

I wanted to cry again. I felt so tired, so confused. Why is this happening? What are those dreams? I felt so pathetic. Why won't Adonis just tell me the truth?
