Even though I had to wake up before six o'clock, waking up beside Everly makes it worth it. She's fast asleep, wrapped up in my arms with her head on my chest. We went to bed soon after our activities last night. She was exhausted and I wouldn't want to keep her from the rest that she clearly needed.
I slip from her warm embrace, wincing when she stirs for a moment. Her eyes don't open and she snuggles up to the closest pillow instead, there is a bright smile on her lips.
If anything I hope she's dreaming about happiness. About good things.
When I reach her door I peer out of it and make sure that no one is around, as soon as I know it's safe I leave. I head straight for my room and take a shower, getting changed into fresh clothes.
