Why "Apologetics"?

Remember when you were a little kid, and you did something wrong to, say, your brother? Your mom would say, "Go apologize to Johnny!" You probably walked over and said, "Sorry for taking your toy, Johnny. But I was playing with it before that, and I just wanted to-" Then your mom cuts you off, telling you that is not a real apology.

Actually, child you was right. You were apologizing.

Apologizing originally did not mean "to say sorry." It meant to defend your position. So when defending your faith is called "apologetics," it does not mean we are apologizing for being Christians, it means we are defending our beliefs!

So don't say sorry for your faith! 😏😎
