Cova's POV

Thursday, September 29th 2022

My mouth went dry, and I found myself frozen in place, unable to move even a single step closer to the table. I was like a deer caught in the headlight, my mind racing as I processed the situation. The NDA I had signed now made perfect sense-this was far beyond anything I had imagined.

What didn't make sense was why I was here, in this room, with him.

"I'm-uh, yes. Time management and punctuality are important to me," I stammered, finally willing my feet to move, each step toward the table slow and cautious.

Run.

"I appreciate that in a woman. I'd like to think I'm the same way," he said, his voice smooth as he slipped his hands into his blazer pockets, taking a few steps toward me.

RUN!

I would if I could bitch!

"I appreciate that in a man," I echoed, trying to keep my voice steady. His right hand emerged from his pocket, extending toward me in a gesture that felt both formal and intimate. I took his hand, feeling the warmth and firmness of his grip.

"Please, have a seat," he offered, his tone polite yet laced with something deeper, something that made the air between us buzz with unspoken tension. He pulled out a chair for me, waiting as I shakily lowered myself into it. I hoped he didn't notice how unsteady I was, but as he pushed the chair in from behind, I could feel the weight of his gaze lingering on me.

As he walked around to take his own seat, I stole a quick glance to make sure it really was him. It had to be, but part of me still couldn't quite believe it. When he finally sat down and met my eyes, I saw a knowing smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

"I take it you know who I am?" he asked, his voice low and measured, as if testing the waters.

Clearing my throat, I nodded. "Yes. It's hard to live in Seoul and not know who you are. Your face is practically on every surface in the city," I replied, trying to summon any bit of confidence I had left. But that part of me-the one that usually handled situations like this with ease-seemed to be missing in action tonight.

"Allow me to introduce myself properly. I'm Min Yoongi; it's a pleasure to meet you in person," he said calmly.

"Cova Simms. The pleasure is mine," I responded, trying to match his smooth tone as I offered a small smile.

"Cova... Covet. I see now," he chuckled softly, his voice wrapping around my name like a blanket, while reaching for the drink menus. His large hands handed me one, and I nearly lost myself in thoughts of what those hands might be capable of. "You have a beautiful name."

Soft dom vibes, definitely.

Calling it now.

"I like to play with words; it worked out well with my name," I laughed lightly, a hint of nervousness coloring my tone.

His infamous gummy smile appeared, and it was like watching a piece of the sun break through the clouds. My heart melted instantly as I looked up from the menu to meet his gaze.

"Cova... isn't that the English word for a constellation?" he asked, tilting his head slightly, genuinely curious.

I chuckled, shaking my head. "That would be Nova, actually, but I get that a lot. Cova just means cave." I mentally cringed at my own words, feeling a bit silly for sharing such a trivial fact, but his soft laugh soothed my embarrassment.
