Chapter 37

Roman: Well that is nice to know baby, but do you want to get lunch together during your lunch break or are you almost finish because I am.

Me: I can quickly finish up and is it okay if I invite Carla and her fiance because I can't leave her here by herself after experiencing what I just experienced.

Roman: Yeah that's fine, just drive to the address I sent you, I love you so much!

Me: I love you too baby!

I hung up the phone and quickly tried to finish all of my work and the work for the business so I can get lunch with bae and Carla with her fiance.

I called in one of my boss friends to come be in charge for today so I can take the rest of the day off and get some lunch with Carla and bae.

"Carla get your shit, we are going to lunch right now" I mentioned as I walked into the elevator following Carla after grabbing her stuff. "I am following you in my car right?" She asked and I nodded my head as we walk out of the elevator to the parking lot outside.

I get in my tesla and turn it on, honking at her to come on so we can get to the place before them, I turned the left corner to the street the place was on and it was so pretty.

I grabbed my purse with everything in it, even the card to get in and out of the tesla and walked with Carla inside the place, we were greeted by the host who was very nice.

"Is there a reservation under Roman?" I asked and the host nodded their head with a smile on their face, something probably made them very happy or it is a fake smile as she grabbed silverware for us and two menus for us as we followed behind them to the table.

Glad it was a booth or my back would be hurting, I kissed Roman before sitting down in the booth and placed my bag on the left side of me. "You guys alright? Roman told me what happened at work" Her fiance Aaron asked.

"I guess I'm alright but they were pissing my bestie off so it pissed me off, so whatever she goes through I go through but we are fine, glad I fired him, he was getting on my nerves." She commented and we came in with a small laugh.

"Aj....isn't that your sister?" Roman pointed out and I shook my head, I haven't talked to my sister since the accident that happened. "We are not going to talk about her right now, she has been blowing up my phone for the past months trying to contact me"

The host puts my sister and whoever she was with across from us at a normal table which made it more obvious that we were here. She got up and walked towards the booth and I slouched in the booth a little bit.

"Hey sis" She waved and I rolled my eyes, Carla hit me "What? Don't be hitting me" I added and she pointed towards her. "Say hello" She mentioned which I did anyways.

"Look I'm sorry about what happened a couple of months ago, I was stressed out and fucked up with my entire life and I didn't meant to take it out on you like that" She cried out.

"You slept with our stepdad because he wasn't getting the love he wanted from mom because he clearly got it from you apparently and now we are suddenly trying to apologize?" I mentioned.

"I know...but I'm sorry, I apologized to Mom about it as well, can you just call me back because I don't want to talk about the rest of this in public" She added before walking away back to her table and everyone else was giving me this rude look.

"Now you didn't have to do your sister like that, she was apologizing and you put all her business out there" They said in unison "I didn't start it....she did"

"But still that is your family not a stranger" Carla added. "Well...." I finished up the rest of my food. "Aj, you are being hella rude right now" Aaron pointed out and everyone else agreed.

"If you were in my place and witnessed what the fuck she did, you would feel the exact same way as I feel right fucking now" I got out of the booth and walked out of the restaurant and got in my car and drove back home.

"Aj you alright?" Joelle asked and I shook my head no as I closed the door behind me and walked into my bathroom to change clothes.

"Babe!" He yelled and I ignored him, he yelled it again and I still ignored him. "Baby why are you ignoring me and lashing out on your family was not cool" He sat beside me.

"Yeah but she did horrible things to hurt my family, I lashed out on her because no one else was going to do it themselves? So who was?" I asked and he just looked at me.

"Exactly, not even my own mom would yell at her because that was her favorite child but somehow I end up being the successful one in life and then my sister talks about all the stress she goes through acting like no one else goes through it too" I just snapped.

He pinned me down to the bed after taking his tie off "Baby! Calm down, I get it" I rolled my eyes "Yeah you get it" I added. "What's that suppose to mean? Like I don't care?" He let me go and got off of me.

I didn't answer him, my heart was racing because he was waiting for me to answer but I couldn't, I felt the tension in the room rising as he continued looking at me with a glare across his face.

"Aj....look at me" He grabbed my hand and I turned around "What was that suppose to mean?" He asked again and I couldn't answer.
