Diao smiled wide like the Cheshire Cat when he, finally, left Rak's house and made his way over. Dao wasn't around when he came in, so he quickly rushed upstairs to change for work. When he came back down half an hour later she was in the kitchen.
"Morning!" he called out happily.
Dao remained silent with her back to him. He furrowed his brow before walking up to her quietly.
"Morning!" he said louder this time.
Dao instantly jumped and turned to look at her brother. She looked troubled and he instantly started to worry.
"Dao, what's wrong? What's happened? Are Mum and Dad ok?" he asked.
She stared at her brother with a strange expression in her eyes that he couldn't quite understand. However, after a few more minutes she shook herself out of it and gave him a small smile. However, he was still worried because the smile looked forced.
"Diao, you scared me!" she said in a strange voice. "Nothing's wrong, Mum and Dad are fine. I just didn't sleep well, is all," she said, stepping back from him.
Diao watched her confused, she glanced at her watch and told him to go or he would be late. He did as she said but her face was on his mind all day. Rak noticed his distraction and called him into his office.
"You asked for me?" Diao asked as he bowed and came in.
Rak motioned for him to take a seat on the small chairs in his office before sitting on the opposite one. With a quick glance at the door, he confirmed no one was watching or could see them. So, he took one of Diao's hands in his. Diao resisted at first, also glancing at the door.
"Don't worry, no one can see us. I just wanted to check if you're ok, you've seemed distracted all morning," he explained, once Diao settled.
Diao sighed and allowed Rak to softly rub his hand. The motion was comforting and calming.
"It might be nothing, but Dao was acting strange this morning. She had a strange look on her face and she didn't smile at me like she normally does. No matter how early it is she always gives me a smile."
"Did you ask her what's wrong?" Rak asked, Diao nodded.
"Of course! She just said it was nothing and that I should go as I would be late for work. I can feel something's wrong."
Rak squeezed Diao's hand unsure of what to say. Diao gave a small smile and stood up.
"I'll be ok," he said, before giving his boyfriend a small kiss on the cheek.

Dao had been sitting on the sofa for over an hour. She had managed to distract herself earlier with work but now she had nothing to do and she couldn't stop thinking about what she saw.
The image of her brother kissing a man left her speechless. Not just any man either, Rak. Dao had been flirting with him for months, ever since he first came to ask about the house. He'd never reciprocated any of her flirtations, never given her any attention.
Never would she have thought Diao would catch Rak's eye instead of her. What was wrong with her? She had to be a better choice than Diao. After all, Diao is always being spiteful and rude to Rak.
"P'Dao?"
Rak smiled politely as she jumped and turned to him with wide eyes.
"Oh, Rak! You scared me," she said.
Dao was about to turn her back on him but she stopped. An evil smile spread on her face before it turned into a sweet one as she turned back to him.
"What brings you here Rak? Come to see me?" she asked sweetly as she stood and sauntered over to him.
