- cinira 'nyiah' brooks' pov | chapter twenty-eighth (28)
- september 15th 2022 | lil peep - interlude

it feel like everything me and aaliyah got going on is going real, real good. she stayed in camp for another week or so, but after it was over, and after some days of her getting settled in, we started hanging out together and by hanging out, i don't mean smoking; i mean more meaningful stuff.

stuff like going out. we go out (not like that since i got a boyfriend, i mean like, just go out in public).

at first i was suggesting stuff like ice cream places and walmart since that's normally the places chris take me to.

we did go to those places but after some days, aaliyah started wanting to go to other places. and like, since she was paying, i ain't have a problem with it.

we been to the arcade together; been to the beach, been to some nice lookin' restaurants, a food fair, and this place with indoor rock climbing.

it's all real fun.
and the shit be even more fun since i'm with aaliyah.

aaliyah; i really like her. i'm glad we friends, i'm glad we good, i'm glad i'm not being mean to her.

i'm just glad. these past weeks been the best. i feel so happy all the time. even when i'm at home.

but i gotta admit that i'm even more happy when i'm with aaliyah. wether it just be us outside, or us at her house.

we at her house now.

"i know i talk about it a lot, but i seriously can't wait for school to start back." aaliyah gushes, folding a pair of pants she just bought today on a mall trip with her mom for back to school shopping. "still can't believe we're about to be seniors. so freakin' unbelievable, cinira. i'm excited."

"i can tell," i laugh, smiling up at her.

"you excited?"

i shrug, watching as she sits the pants down, starting to fold another item of clothing. she picked so much shit.

i wish i was rich, too.

"uh, a little. i ain't never really liked school so i can't say i care too much." i reply honestly.

she nods. "yeah, not much to like but if you have the right people around you, it's a way better experience."

"you the only good person i got around me,"

"gosh, cinira" she scoffs, a smile playin' on her face. "you give me way too much credit, girl."

"you deserve all the credit."

"i'll take your compliment." she replies with a soft sigh, just as she finishes up folding a hoodie. when she's done, she looks around the living room a lil. i'm guessing she just thinking or maybe takin' everything in. when she done, she look at me all excited. "oh, hey; guess what?"

i sit up, folding my hands over my lap. "what?"

"i got something for you."

she walk off and after hearing a bag crumble around for a minute, she come back and hand me a white gift bag. "i was gonna get a normal one from spencer's but i hated how they look, so i decided a custom one would do you better."

i look through the bag for a few seconds before i pull out a black piece of clothing. it's a hoodie.

a polo g one.

and when i notice that, i can't stop the 'awee' from leaving my mouth fast enough. "girl this is so nice," i smile big, looking at the printed design on the front of the hoodie. she was right; this look way better than the ones you would see on spencer's or whatever. i hug it to my chest, smiling hard.
"thank you so much, aaliyah. i really like it. thank you."
