Vee gasped as she ran in place under a bright spotlight.
Her hair and shawl bounced with each step.
"Get back here!" a voice shouted from the surrounding abyss.
She spread her legs as far as her dress would let her.
"I've gotta go," she whispered.
A silky voice sang in the distance.
Her lungs felt as if they were burning through her chest.
"No! Please!" she cried.
Tears started to leak from her ducts.
A dark gray and maroon snake quietly slithered behind her.
Hissssssss
"Kyahhh!" she squealed.
Vee pulled up her dress and ran faster.
It hissed quietly.
"Stop it! Please!" she wailed.
The reptile coiled around the light's circumference while hissing her name. As it moved, its body became bigger.
Above her, the light started to dim.
She looked up to see the snake slide across it.
Vee's feet caught on each other, and she fell forward!
"Ahh!"
It hissed louder.
The young woman rolled onto her back. Her pupils dilated as the snake continually blocked out more of the light.
Suddenly, chains clamped her ankles and wrists to a stone floor.
"Blake," she whimpered as she struggled.
The snake growled in a masculine voice.
Its body coiled around the light source while its head lowered itself towards her.
"P-please have mercy!" she cried.
"You ran away," it growled.
"I had to leave!"
"You weren't ordered to, you fat flood," it sneered.
She briefly lifted her head to see her clothes had vanished!
The woman broke down into sobs and let her head drop.
"Now that's more like it," the snake crooned.
The light was nearly gone.
"Ssssssooon you'll be back! For more fun!"
"No. No. No. Please. No. No!" she cried.
The snake opened its mouth.
"Welcome home," a silky monotone called.
Instantly the snake lunged at her!
"NO!!" she shrieked.

Vee's body jerked upright!
"NO! NO! NO!" she screamed.
She leapt to her feet and ran forward.
