Time: May 15th, X820 ~3pm

Location: Margaret Town

Objective: Can you hear them?

Bare feet dug into the earth. They sprayed dirt and pebbles behind them as they fought the natural incline.

Tree trunks whizzed by on either side.

Rodents and birds scattered, parting the way for the red streak.

A few flies were easily swept aside by the flying blue fabric.

As the feet hit a plateau, their stride widened significantly.

Oxygen flew in and out of the lungs.

The tree tops gently swayed as they watched the figure run past.

A blue, sparkly landscape appeared in the distance.

The trees parted the way to reveal a grassy cliff overlooking the ocean.

The figure stopped where the trees dared to go no further.

They gasped for air as they put their hands on their knees.

Sweat dripped from their red, scraggly locks.

"I thought you were in shape, Reiki," a voice half-snarled.

Reiki looked up.

Standing near the edge was a young man with purple, spiked hair and a wrinkly, white, calf-length coat.

Reiki took a deep breath and rose up.

"I locked myself in my studio for seven days. Then I was in the infirmary for eight days. And the previous two days I just sat at home. I would be very surprised if I was still in shape," he half-gasped.

The person nodded.

Reiki gathered his breath and came to the person's side.

The cliff pulled back to reveal a beautiful town.

"So why did you come to Margaret Town, Jace?" he wondered.

"Because you weren't getting s*** done," Jace growled.

"I was sick!"

"More like sick of working."

Reiki's shoulders sagged.

"I'm guessing you came to investigate what Mya and Larry had to say so far?" he asked.

"Hmph. Yep."

"What did they say?"

Jace turned his head and glared at the redhead.

"You have some nerve to ask me," he snarled.

Reiki returned a confused gaze.

"What?"

The Poison Dragon Slayer's eyes narrowed.

"I could hear it. When Cal visited. You and her had a secret meeting with Tina. The hooded mage who set up the cyclone barriers. And I heard everything Tina told the two of you."

The Heavenly Body Mage gulped.

'I...wow I was naive to not consider Jace.'

"And I heard that it was because of that stupid promise to a Dark Mage that you wouldn't tell Nashi, Cris, Wendy, Skyler, or Romeo the truth about what happened," Jace added.

"I told all five of them that the information I received indicated Guthrie would be in more danger if we left him at Needleworks."

Jace stomped and turned his whole body towards the older teenager.
