All along the wall there were countless monitors each displaying a variety of scenes with young heroes rescuing civilians from disaster zones each to varying degrees of success, some were expertly tending to the civilians although they were in the minority, for the most part the hero prospects were making numerous blunders which differed in severity, with each error the rapid scribbling of pens could be heard

Spectating this trial was an assortment of judges here to evaluate the one hundred potential heroes who'd made it passed the first round of the Provisional Hero License Exams, each making notes of any mistakes made then deducting a suitable amount of points from their overall score, should one's score fall below fifty they fail

One of the examiners checked his watch, after confirming the time he proceeded to press the end of his pen to retract the tip of his ballpoint pen, pulling out his phone his thumb hovered over a large red button that he hesitated to press, glancing over to his colleagues beside him he watched them all eventually give nods to approve of what he was about to do, and so he did

Moments after the button was pressed in a corridor where a single figure sat under a red light above them which changed to green, glancing up the figure pressed their hands against their knees preparing to stand but before they could a chubby gloved hand extended itself to them offering to help them stand, after a brief delay the sitting individual accepted the gesture and was hoisted to their feet

At the end of the corridor a seemingly dead end began to open up and illuminate the corridor, the light revealing there were actually three silhouettes — a third not previously seen — advancing towards the newly formed exit of the corridor, stepping into the light as a PA system announced their arrival

The trio now revealing themselves scattered into separate directions; the first now soaring into the sky, the second sprinting in a straight line and the third extending a cord from their wrist which soon went taut before launching them forwards, in any other scenario if the hero candidates knew what was coming their way they'd of already been fleeing in fear

But all they could now was stand and fight as a shape loomed overhead eclipsing the sun, a large rotund figure advanced shaking the ground with each step and a normal humanoid figure skilfully manoeuvred their way over

3 hours prior

Y/N L/N in his hero attire was walking down a corridor, he'd just arrived at the location where the exams were held and was told to head to an observation room where he could watch the participants, interact with the other examiners and get free snacks, he was currently focused on the most important bit of information

He'd missed out on breakfast since he needed to leave home early to arrive here so he had a sense of urgency when leaving, so in his rush to leave he forgot to eat anything before departing, he could practically hear the voice of his son in his head laughing away so he'd keep this bit of information to himself

Something else interesting he had learnt was that he wouldn't be working alone in the section of the exam he'd participate in, apparently there were two other pro heroes here who were doing the same, he didn't bother wondering who considering he was about to see them soon anyway so his mind was left to wonder what culinary treats he could treat himself to

Find a room labeled 'Observation Room' he decided to knock against the door before entering — being polite never hurt anyone after all — which was soon opened, a man in a suit answered the door and with a glance invited Inquisitive inside while stepping aside, seeing a table covered in snacks Y/N decided to make a B line for it, removing his helmet and placing it on the side of the table just before he could sink his teeth in a voice interrupted him
