I sigh as the chairman jumps down from the huge blimp that was in the air. 'I just want to hurry up...' I thought. I wasn't ready to get one of the eggs, but I knew I had too. I watch as the old man walks towards Menchi, hearing someone ask who he was. "He is the head of the exam committee, and he's responsible for the hunter exam."

I stare at Netero, his ears bugged me. "Oh, I just work behind the scenes. It's not all that impressive. I only intervene in the exams when little issues like this one pop up." Netero said. I space out, not really paying attention to what the old man was saying. He was scolding Menchi, saying that she shouldn't have failed every single one of us.

As Menchi tried to resign as examiner, Netero then said that she could do it herself first. Finally letting us re-take the second phase. "Would you mind taking us to Split Mountain?" Menchi asked. Netero then knew what she was planning, deciding to take us idiots along in the blimp. When we land, we all get off and stare into the ditch.

"This is it. Take a look at what's down there." Menchi said, having everyone stare further. "What is that?" Menchi took her time and answered, saying it was a spider eagle web. "They build their webs all the way down there?" Gon asks, sounding excited. Unlike Gon though, I was nervous. I was hoping I wouldn't accidently let go.

Then there was strong wind that blew out, making the fat guy tumble down like humpty dumpty. "Look past the web to what's underneath." Menchi said.

"Hey, those are-."

"Those are the spider eagle eggs." Menchi said again. Netero than began to explain how spider eagles build their webs, making me space out a bit. He was also saying how the eggs are commonly known as 'Dream eggs'. "Hey, wait a minute. Do you mean-." Menchi cut the man off, saying, "You bet I do."

The female then dives into the ditch and grabs a hold of the web. "Even if she grabs a few, how is she going to get back up?" Leorio asked, making me stare at him. She waits for a few seconds and then finally falls, grabbing an egg with her. "Hey! She jumped down!" Leorio yells, forcing me to cover my ears. I was wanting to hit him where it hurt.

"Is she trying to get herself killed?" I shake my head, moving away from the tall teen and stand next to Gon instead. I uncover my ears as we all feel the strong wind once again, bringing Menchi up with it. I listen as Gon and Killua gasp, with the albino boy saying, "That looks like fun!" I smiled a little, seeing him smile.

Netero explains how the updrafts are for the newly born babies to help guide them. Menchi then lands, "There! Now I just need to boil it and I'll be set." As the fat guy tried to retreat, Gon then yells, "I've been waiting for something like this!" I watch as the four jump down, not listening to Menchi's words at all.

I sigh, knowing that this was the only way to pass. I face my body towards the others and stick my tongue at them, falling backwards. Wasn't the smartest but I wasn't about to do what they did. Once I see the web, I quickly grab onto it. I bite my lip, looking down. I wasn't a huge fan of heights either. Everyone else then proceeds to jump down.

'Fuck... I should've waited.' I thought, now realizing my mistake. The web could break with all this extra weight. I then hear a guy yell "Later!" and falls first, grabbing his egg. Although, he probably should've waited. Poor guy. "What are we waiting for." I hear Leorio ask, making Gon tell him not to go yet.

As Leorio asks, "Why not?" Killua says, "No wind." We finally hear the guy start to scream for his life. I held on tighter, hoping I wouldn't end up like that. "When do you think the next one comes along?" I let out a shaky sigh, staring over at Gon. He stared back at me, saying, "Any minute now." Killua also looked over, giving me a stare off.
