Rain woke up slowly the memories of earlier coming back as he stretched. He wanted to feel embarrassed, but couldn't get past how good he felt. The only thing that could have been better was to wake up to someone beside him. Brushing aside the thought he pushed himself up and out of the bed...work was calling.

Glancing at the stand next to his bed he spotted the note, and smiled to himself as he tapped the number into his phone. Tucking the napkin, and the card into his pocket he padded barefoot down the stairs to his spare bedroom turned studio.

Considering he was fairly well known his setup was modest, and homey. A plush couch sat against the far wall, and he'd converted the closet into a recording booth. Sound proofing covered parts of the wall to dampen unneeded sounds, and various instruments sat organized in a corner of the room.

Settling into his chair he pulled himself close to desk, and propped one foot up on the edge  and leaned closer to the computer screens. In no time he was lost in his own world as he tweaked the song of a new artist, and offhandedly shot off texts here and there to other associates.

His phone vibrated next to his hand, and without thinking he pushed the button to activate the screen. Irritated being interrupted he almost ignored it, but then a small smile quirked the corner of his lips.

Sexy P': You conscious yet 😈

Rain: You would already know the answer if you'd stuck around 10 minutes later 😏

Rain laughed low at his lie.

Sexy P': Why didn't you tell me to come back?

Rain: You could have stayed...been my personal blanket...P' 😎

He grinned at his phone waiting for the next message. It had been so long since he'd flirted he had forgotten how fun it could be.

Sexy P': Oh no...looks like a cold front showed up...still need a blanket?

Biting his lip he typed the reply.

Rain: Blankets are overrated bodies are warmer.

Sexy P': ...... 10 minutes

Rain felt excitement run through him as he pushed back from the desk, and saved all his progress. He knew that they had literally known each other for two days, but he couldn't help himself. Everything felt like he should just trust it, and keep going.

He wanted to look nice, but didn't want to have too much on just in case things escalated like the kitchen earlier. He bounded up the stairs to his room, and quickly tossed off the shirt and shorts. He pulled on a pair of white washed jeans with holes in the knees, and a black short sleeve cotton button up.

He was fussing over the bed when he heard the gate ring. Rushing he pushed the button to open the gate, and took a few calming breaths before walking calmly down the stairs. As he walked to the front he stilled mid step as a complete stranger stood in the front hall of his house.

The man was taller than him, and wore a black hoodie, jeans, and shoes. The small bouquet of flowers in his hand, and a bright smile spread across his face. The dark eyes filled with an affection he knew they shouldn't have, and felt a small pool of panic in his lower stomach. Silently he berated himself...how many times had Sky told him to be careful.

Rain was by no means weak, but in the years of becoming well known in the industry he'd come to realize that people thought he was. And that drew in a different type when they learned of his sexual preferences, something he'd been progressively transparent about in the industry. It had closed a few doors for him, but overall hadn't changed much.
