After vicky ran from the pub, she immediately regretted her decisions but was too far gone to apologise or to calm down. And so she contiued to go on  rampage just as people expected of her. She went to the end of a street which was unfamiliar to her and stood shaking as she looked in at a house.

A mother stood, rocking a baby in her arms. There were 3 other children playing on the floor, some with dolls, another was drawing. From the back door, a father and son walked in with a football, laughing and playfully pushing one another. Vicky watched this family with envy. She wasn't sure what made her do it, but she grabbed a nearby stone and threw it in the window. Cries could be heard and gasps from the children. The father stormed from the house and grabbed vicky by the wrist harshly

"Fuck you playing at girl? Could've killed us!" The man yelled as vicky snapped from her trance

"Mr shuffle. Please release my daughter before I put a bullet between your eyes" Tommy's voice boomed somewhat calm but with much authority. The man looked ready to shit himself as he realised who he was speaking to

"Sorry Mr shelby. Didn't realise she was your kid" tommy lifted vicky up and walked off, yelling over his shoulder

"Send the bill to the peaky blinders" and then he was gone into the cloud of smoke and pollution which flooded the air. He took vicky back to their house and sat her down at the table, sitting opposite her

"What happened?" He asked

"I threw a rock at their window"

"Why?" Vicky just shrugged

"Victoria!"

"Why, because I fucking can! Because I fucking can! And if I can, I do. And if I were to sit around obeying tossers like you then I might aswell hang myself now" she yelled at her father. Tommy was taken aback, noticing just how alike they were, and how much that scared him

"That was an innocent family. What would've happened if the rock hit the baby? Or one of the children? Ay?"

"SHUT UP! YOU KILL PEOPLE EVERYDAY TOMMY! THEY MAY NOT BE KIDS BUT THEY ARE STILL SONS, BROTHERS, FATHERS! AND YOU FUCKING KILL THEM LIKE THEY MEAN NOTHING SO DONT SIT THERE AND TRY AND TELL ME WHAT IS CONSIDERED MORALLY RIGHT OR WRONG. WHY DONT YOU START FOCUSING ON SUBJECTS YOU KNOW ABOUT. LIKE HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER! NOT HOW TO BE A GOOD PERSON!" Vicky screamed standing up. Tommy stood in anger making her flinch back

"WATCH YOUR MOUTH! IM YOUR FATHER. IF I SPOKE TO MT FATHER HOW YOU ARE NOW THEN ID GET A CRACK!"

"Go on then. Go on hit me. I can take it. Not like its anything new to me" Tommy suddenly realised that his fist was clenched but he'd die before he hit his daughter. Bouncer was growling at him in warning and he began to feel like a monster

"Go to your room Victoria! I'll tell you when it's time for tea" he muttered. She stormed up the stairs and stood at the top

"Fine. But don't call me Victoria. I hate you Tommy. Wish it was you that died not mummy" she slammed the door and flopped onto her bed. Bouncer sat at the bottom of the stairs confused by all the yelling. Tommy flopped into his seat at the table and just cried. How could he have been so horrid to her? Lost her mother, and suddenly sent to live with a stranger and expected to act like a daughter. How could he be so blind? No wonder she's upset. He had to fix this somehow

After giving her time to cool down, Tommy went and sat outside her door

"Vicky, I'm here with bouncer. He misses you. Will you let him in? It isn't safe for you two to be apart" tommy begged nut he got no reply

"Listen sweetheart. I'm new to this whole dad thing. And I don't know what I'm doing. But I love you and I'm trying my best to be the dad you need but...but it's not as easy as they make it look. I'm sorry for what I said and for yelling. I suppose I don't know how to discipline you, even if I should discipline you. Don't know if I'm being too tough or too hard on ya. I don't want to mess this up because I love you so much. Just wish we met sooner" he pours his heart out to her and hears the door rattle as she sits against it on the other side

"I didn't want to hurt anyone Tommy. I saw the rock and just threw it but I don't know why. I don't want a dad Tommy. I'm sorry. But last week, if I threw a rock through a window, I'd do it with my friends, and then we'd run away and laugh. I don't think im gonna get used to this whole behaving crap. Even when mum was alive, she loved me but she didn't know how to control me for shit. I saw her in the mornings and at tea. And then she'd work all night and sleep all day. Never got told off, never had rules. I don't want to leave, and I know that if you don't set rules, then social services will take me away. So I am trying, I promise" vicky tells him through the door

"We're both new to this. But we'll figure it out together. I promise you, I'm not gonna let them take you away vicky" suddenly the door is opened and Tommy stands up. Vicky is facing him with red eyes and tear stained cheeks, bouncer jumps up in happiness as he sees her

"Come on, let's get something from the chippy" Tommy suggests holding out his hand. Vicky takes it and they walk out together. Once they get the fish and chips, they sit outside by the canal eating, giving bouncer a chip every now and then. As they sit there, they hear a cat getting closer, purring.

"Look" Tommy points at the mother kat with its 3 kittens which are walking towards the pair

"Stay back" vicky warns scared of the animals

"You don't like cats?" Tommys asks as she backs away from them

"Fuck do you think?" She asks as one kitten tries to follow her but she jumps into Tommy's arms without warning

"Daddy help! I don't like it" she screams as he holds her up. Tommy carried her away from the cats and she stays in his arms as they walk home. He couldn't stop beaming. She'd called him daddy. Vicky hadn't noticed, but Tommy had and that's all that mattered
