Once vicky and Henry were home, a maid gave them a cup of tea whilst they sat and waited for Tommy and George to get home. Bouncer had been given a treat for his heroic actions

"Are you alright honey?" Vicky asked Henry, who was shaking from shock

"Im sorry I didn't do more"

"Hey. Don't be silly. You were so incredibly brave my darling. Henry, you are the bravest boy I have ever met. You kicked that guy in the balls! It was insane. You were my Knight in shining armour, so thank you. You didn't get hurt did you?"

"No I'm alright" he shrugs

"Henry! Don't lie to me" she warns

"Ugh. Whilst that guy pushed you to the ground, he punched me in the ribs. I don't know. Just hurts abit is all"

"Is it alright if I take a look?" Vicky asks. He nods and she gets infront of him, lifting up his shirt and tracing over his ribs softly

"Oh honey. They're bruised but I don't think they're broken. The maid will get you some ice for them" they heard a car pulling into the drive and vicky peered outside. Tommy and George were home

"Why don't you go upstairs and rest for a little while" vicky suggests

"You're gonna yell at Tommy aren't you? I don't mind listening. You don't have to hide it from me. I'm just as angry with him as you are"

"Just go Henry. You are very brave and I'm sure you'll be listening anyway. But if you are here then I've got no chance of Tommy telling me the truth" Henry sighs and walks upstairs with a maid following him with ice. Just as he is gone, the door opens and vicky rushes into Tommy's arms, hugging him tightly. She was so incredibly angry. But she also thought she'd never see him again, and all she needed was her dad. He was shocked at first but hugged her back

"Everything OK baby?" He asked. Vicky let go and pushed his chest angrily

"Me and Henry were attacked today"

"Are you both OK?" George panics

"We got lucky. Henry has a bruised rib and he's abit shook up but he'll be fine. It's a good bloody job bouncer was there. Otherwise we'd be dead in a ditch" vicky gives Tommy a death glares as he sighs

"Do you know who did it? I swear Vic, I'll get Arthur and John and we'll kill these bastards"

"Oh give it a rest daddy. I don't know who did it. But you sure as hell know. Everything something happens, it's always to teach Thomas shelby a lesson. Or to show Thomas shelby he shouldn't mess with the wrong people. When will you ever learn? I don't know what you did daddy, but this has to stop" vicky begs

"Vic, I promise, I havnt done anything. There are no enemies as of recently that I can think would ever want to hurt you" Tommy promises

"Then why did it happen?" Vickys voice breaks as she looks between the two men. Tears brim in her eyes and she sits down on the sofa, George quickly holding her hand for comfort

"I wasn't scared for me. How can I be? Henry was stood right next to me. There were men infront of us and...and I knew I wouldn't have the strength to protect him. I could die trying, I would've if it was needed. But I just knew that whether I let them kill me, he would still be harmed and I wouldn't be able to stop it. That little boy. I was so scared" vicky began sobbing into George's shoulder as he sat down next to her and hugged her tightly. Tommy sat opposite, pouring himself a glass of whiskey to calm himself down

"Everything's gonna be alright. You're both safe now. I promise vic" George kissed her forehead and rubbed her back, tucking some hair behind her ear

"These men, did one have blonde hair and a mustache?" Tommy asks

"Yes. See I knew you did something. Who are they and how did you piss them off this time?" Vicky asked. Of course, Tommy shouldn't be blamed for everything. But it was difficult when he was so careless in the past, often resulting in his family's endangerment

"I didn't do anything Vic. I swear to you, this was horrible and they will be punished, but it was not me. They are a small gang trying to work themselves up. They want to be us. Clearly its not working well for them. We've been giving them opportunity's to shut down their operation and stop the nonsense. But now we will take stronger measures to make sure they pay for what they have done. Vicky, you don't have to worry. There is no more than 12 members of their gang. No smaller business. All separate jobs. No money. It'll be a simple job which we don't have to worry about" Tommy promises. Vicky believed him. She was ill, and tired and scared, Tommy had more care than to put her in danger once again

That night, vicky was lay wide awake with her back towards George. His arm crept around her waist, pulling her closer as he buried his head into her neck

"Can't sleep baby?" He asks kissing her neck softly

"Tommy lied to me today"

"How can you tell? He seems just as miserable as always" George replies

"When he lies, he tends to sigh first. He tells it plain and simple. But when something is the truth, he gets more passionate. Raising his voice and things like that. He looked me in the eyes. Trying too hard to make it seem truthful. But I know when he lies. And i promise, he was lying tonight"

"Vicky, don't think about it too much. He's a smart man. Sure he makes some stupid mistakes. But he's good, and he cares about us. He wouldn't put us at risk, not after today" vicky nods, agreeing to let the matter drop. Henry's hand, the one not wrapped around her waist, slid between her legs, grazing her thigh softly and working it's way up. Vicky giggled at the contact, turning around to kiss Henry. They fell asleep a little whilst later, very happy people
