It had been 2 days since the incident. The shelby family were regaining their feet, getting back into routine with vicky home, safe and sound. However, peace wasn't yet possible for the girl, as he head had done nothing but ache for several days. She kept bouncer with her constantly, having a feeling that a seizure was brewing, however, it didn't come. It was torture. You know the feeling, when you know you need to vomit bit it just doesn't happen? So you sit there for hours, just waiting.  That's how vicky felt. Waiting for the inevitable which she just wanted to get out of the way in hope of feeling even slightly better

However, with vicky being vicky, she had not told Tommy from fear of worrying him. It could be a cold, it could be her cancer, or she could simply be tired. Either way, nothing could change whether Tommy knew or not. So she kept it to herself. Sleep seemed foreign to the girl. Laying in bed all night, so tired, yet her eyes just wouldn't let her sleep. Was she scared? A little. But vicky knew she was safe with Tommy in the room next door, but still, she gained no peace

Vicky was stood in Tommy's office with her uncles and father. It was very late at night, and the rain pounding only made them all want the comfort of their beds even more

"Daddy, please, is this really necessary?" Vicky asked sleepily, leaning against Arthur as Tommy went over the new security every family house would have. The shelbys had many enemies, and no one knew how many men vickys brothers had. Maybe it was just them and a few other drunk bastards. But Tommy didn't want to risk it. For all they knew, vickys brothers could have am entire gang behind them, waiting for revenge

"Vicky, this is important to guarantee your-" but he was cut off as she gripped her head and hissed, quickly sitting down with Arthur's help

"Vic, you alright?" John asked as Tommy crouched infront of her. Tears welled in her eyes as the pain slowly went away

"I'm ok" she sniffed

"Leave us" Tommy told his brothers and they did so

"Really I'm fine"

"You are not fine vicky. Tell me what's going on" Tommy said holding her hand as he begged for some answers

"It's just a headache. I've had it for a couple of days now. I think I'm just getting a cold is all. Please don't worry" Tommy cupped her cheeks and kissed her forehead

"Next time, you ever feel unwell, you tell me straight away. You should've told me sooner. Come on, I'll take you to the hospital"

"No, I'm not wasting time at the hospital when their are people dying" Tommy sighs. He didn't care about them, he only cared about vicky

"Please don't do this vic. Don't argue. You need to see a doctor and-"

"Fine. But not now. Please. I'm so tired daddy. Book an appointment at the doctors for tomorrow. And we can go then. But I don't want to go when it's midnight" he nodded his head in defeat, knowing that this was the best he would get. Kissing her cheek, Tommy told her goodnight and off she went to bed

The next morning, vicky woke up, got dressed and had her pills. Tommy got bouncers lead and they got into the car

"Are you feeling any better love?"

"Yes I'm alright now"

"And the truth?"

"My head still hurts" vicky shrugged. She complained alot, just never about herself. The attention wasn't something she approved on. Nor was the sympathy

"I don't see why he needs his lead. He is well trained" she groaned

"I doubt he will even be allowed into the doctors. May have to stay in the car" vicky sighed. Damn, poor dog. And Tommy was correct, bouncer did have to stay in the car. Tommy linked arms with vicky incase she had a seizure and then they sat down in the waiting room. 30 minutes go by and tommt stands up angrily but vicky quickly pulls him back down

"What are you doing?" She whisper yells

"I've got my fucking gun. And you need a doctor"

"You bloody well aren't. These people need a doctor just as much, if not, more than me" vicky dragged him down and he sat sulking like a child. Bouncing his leg up and down impatiently. The good thing was, they seemed to have their own corner. As vicky was still in the children's department, and many of the mothers had ushered their children away from anyone with the blood shelby. Not that Tommy or vicky were offended. They enjoyed the peace from the screaming kids which seemed to fill up the building. It appeared, tantrums were happening left right and centre.

"Victoria Harlow" the nurse called out. They stood up and walked I the doctors office. After describing her pain, the doctor listened to her chest and took an xray of her body. He took some blood tests and a urine sample before they had to wait another 4 hours. It was torture but eventually, they were back in the doctors office

"I'm pleased to say that this is not down to your cancer. You have a lack of vitamin D in your system which is causing the constant headache. Unfortunately, vitamin D is gained from sun rays, and our lovely city does not provide us with much sun. However I will prescribe you with some vitamins to take daily" he handed them a letter to take to the pharmacy

"Erm...what is happening with my cancer? Has it stopped spreading?" Vicky asked anxiously. The doctor sighed and took off his glasses

"I'm afraid the cancer continues to spread. But it's slow and i don't believe you have any worries about what you may miss. We are doing all we can to slow it down further"

"How long?" Vicky asks

"Vicky no-"

"This isn't your decision. I know you don't want to know, but it's going to happen. How long do I have left?" Vicky asks. Tommy's eyes water as he tries to hide it, his knee bouncing with worry

"If you decide to continue the treatment, then I would estimate 3 years, however that is only an estimate" vicky nods

"And if I don't continue the treatment?"

"Then I don't believe you would see another Christmas miss Harlow" the doctor says sadly. Vicky thanks him as she and Tommy leave

"You aren't considering stopping treatment are you?" He asks on their way out

"No...I promise" he kisses her forehead and she wipes his single tear before they get in the car to leave
