It's been 3 months since finn got shot. Vicky had started to be around bouncer more, however she still refused to tell George that she was ill. Polly and Tommy would take her to the hospital for her medicine and sit with her all day. Recently, she's been getting headaches. They weren't too bad and she didn't want to make a fuss so just kept drinking water and hoping they would go away. But they were particularly bad at night, meaning she didn't sleep as much as she should.

Tommy was getting increasingly worried. She had stopped running altogether, didn't play football anymore and even when she was with George, she wouldn't go outside because she couldn't walk for long. He kept trying to convince her to get some fresh air but she wouldn't budge. So instead, Tommy insisted she keep the windows open atleast.

It was difficult for everyone. But the person it affected most was vicky. She felt guilty. Kept wondering what would've happened if she never met Tommy. He wouldn't be going through this. He wouldn't be grieving for his daughter who wasn't even dead. She kept blaming herself for everything but there was nothing anyone could do. This was God's choice. And she hated him for it

George was also noticing a change in vicky. He thought perhaps she had stopped liking him. But he was soon reassured that she was just tired and not feeling herself. Everyday he would come round her house. They would talk for hours, kissing and cuddling. Often, Henry would join them and she'd help him with his school work. The three of them would talk up until midnight when their mother came to pick them up, usually forgetting what time it was

Vicky was currently sat on the bed with George. She was helping him with his CV, because his dad was pestering him to get a job

"You ever had a job before?" She asks

"Closest thing I've had to a job was 1 week handing out newspapers"

"OK. Well all you gotta do is take that and spice up the words a little"

"How?" He asks

"You have worked in aiding the community in their day to day lives. With experience in social advertising and care for the young and old" vicky smiles as he writes that down

"You're good at this. Like really good. Thank you" he compliments her. As they carried on, the headaches came back. Suddenly and so much worse than usual, vicky gripped her head and cried out

"You alright?" George asks shocked. She couldn't even answer. She stood up thinking it was perhaps from being lay down for so long. But as she did, she collapsed on the floor, still crying in pain. Suddenly, she vomited on the floor, but there was blood mixed in. George was in shock

"Polly! Polly! You're alright. You're alright" he comforted whilst yelling for polly who had recently brought up some cheese sandwiches for them both.

Polly came rushing in and crouched to vickys side

"It hurts" she cries as polly wraps her arms around her

"George, run to the garrison. Get Tommy. Tell him that vicky is sick" George doesn't think twice before he runs to the garrison as fast as his legs would carry him. When he gets there, he flings the doors open and runs over to Tommy

"Tommy! It's vicky. She's sick. It's really bad tom" Tommy and Arthur stand up and rush with George. Over the months, George has become close with the shelbys. They're surprisingly trusting of him alone with vicky and they all seem to like how he treats her so well

They get into the car and drive back to Tommy's house, speeding around bends, almost knocking down a couple old ladies. But they had to get home and fast

When they got back, vicky was in bed. Her skin was grey and her hair sweaty as polly held a bowl for her to be sick in

"There there. You're alright. Ye? You're alright" polly comforts using a damp cloth to pat her forehead gently

"Daddy" vicky chokes and Tommy rushes to her side, holding her hand

"I'm here darling. You sleep now. Get some rest" Tommy says. Vicky leans against polly and is asleep in seconds. Tommy leaves and pulls George into his office

"Shouldn't we be calling an ambulance?" He asks

"No. This isn't the first time it's happened. We know how to sort it" Tommy says

"She's really sick isn't she? Not just stomach bug sick? But really sick" George asks sadly. Tommy nods trying not to cry

"She has cancer. Has done for a long time"

"Why wouldn't she tell me?" George asks with tears in his eyes

"I wish I knew. She's going through alot. No one knows what she's thinking but it must have been a good fucking reason"

"She's not gonna get better. Is she?" George asks

"No mate. She's not. I'm sorry" Tommy says looking away from him

"So am i. She doesn't deserve this" Tommy nods. He walks over to George and does the unexpected. He hugs him, letting him cry into his shoulder

"You can leave. I understand. I'll tell vicky you had to move away. But if you decide to stay now, then there is no backing out. Otherwise I will kill you" Tommy threatens

"I'm not leaving. She's going to die whether I'm here or not. I want to make the most of our time together. I love her tom. I really love her"

"You're a good lad"

George goes into vickys room. Polly leaves and George cuddles up to her, kissing her cheek

"George" she whispers

"Sshh. Its OK. I'm here"

"I'm sorry" she cries but he wipes her tears and kisses her forehead

"I love you" he whispers as she falls back asleep, her hand resting against his chest
