On the way to a shoot today, I did something embarrassing. And now, I realize it's a pretty cute meet cute. This AU is based on that.

(I also post this on my Twitter but usually versions here are a bit longer because I have no character limits.)

It's 2019 and it's W's first day as an actor. The company van will pass by for him at 5am and at 4:55 he was already excitedly pacing back and forth in front of the gate of his house. He cannot wait to get on set and start the day.

B has been an actor for sometime. And although he had his share of successes, he still was not as big as he aspired to be. He was already in the van. His house being farther away from the location, he had been picked up at the absurdly early hour of 4:30am. He was sitting in the 2nd row of the company van - sleepy but restless, anxious for the day ahead.

The vehicle makes a right turn into a residential street. B could hardly see through the dark tint of the windows, all he could make out was a faint outline of what seemed like a mansion. He leans forward, hands placed on the seat in front of him, neck craned, trying to see who they were picking up.

W's eyes light up as he sees the van round the corner. When it stops right in front of him he eagerly opens the door and skips inside. Wrong move. His sneakers were slick with dew and mud and his visibility was low. His foot lands the wrong way on the step and he begins to fall. In a panic, he grabs the seat in front of him.

B is surprised by the sudden woosh of the van door opening and even more surprised when a hand lands on top of his. Soft and warm and strong. It takes him a split second to realize the owner of the hand was falling. So B grabs the hand and pulls with all his might.

W was sure he was going to crash butt first into the gravel but that's before a pair of hand grips his and pull him forward. He does fall but chest first onto his savior. W opens his eyes as he sighs a breath of relief. But as soon as he sees who is before him - or more accurately, under him - that breath of relief hitches.

B watches as the newcomer opens his eyes and exhales. He watches as the flustered man realizes he was laying on top of B and pushes himself upright. B watches in silence as the young man thanks him over and over and then looks away.

B is silent because his tongue is in knots along with his stomach. His whole body was in shock. The only part of him making noise was his heart, hammering in his chest like a jackhammer. All his anxiety replaced with something else entirely.

The PA in the front seat turns to B and W. "The 2 of you alright? Is anyone hurt?"
The men nod and shake their heads respectively. Both thankful that the still dark sky was hiding their flushed faces.
The PA smiles. "How does it feel to finally meet your soulmates?"
"Huh?," was the only word W could manage to say.

"Your on-screen soulmates!," she clarifies. "I read the script and it looks like a winner. Is it your first time doing a romance?"
The men nod, stealing a glance at each other.
The PA grins before facing forward. "Well buckle up, I have a good feeling. This may be the show that changes your lives."

W smiles at this. His eyes disappearing as his full mouth stretches, revealing pearly bunny teeth and accentuating his sharp cheekbones and jaw. The sun is breaking in the sky now, and the light was making W glow. B hadn't even noticed he had turned his head and was now fully staring at W, his eyes sparking, lips perpetually in a small smile.

The start of a lifelong habit.

Yes, without a doubt, this was going to change his life. Forever.

B couldn't wait.
