My family has a very strict Christmas tradition. One that has been observed perhaps for the last 15 years.

This year, I broke it for BrightWin.

Flying over, I fought all expectations and tampered down my anxieties. I am a trained BWs and we all know by now we hope but don't expect. This is a fandom who appreciates moments as they come. And as long as it's for the boys, we will always come bearing smiles and full support.

My friend and I got to the arena bright and early and the gods were smiling on all of us because despite the heat, there was always a cool breeze. Not that anyone there was concerned about the weather. The air was brimming with excitement. You can just feel the happiness bubbling forth from the crowd. No one was frowning, no one was irritated, everyone was friendly and accommodating. Even in the long merch lines, you could see people making friends, swapping merch, complimenting each other's outfits. It was like finally meeting ten thousand friends. A reunion.

And all of that happiness just increased a million fold the moment Bright and Win floated downwards towards the stage.
And that happiness manifested in screams and waving arms and tears.

Perhaps the energy came from somewhere divine- how else could we sustain that outpouring of love, those decibels of adoration?

Kan Goo. That Person Must be You. The herald to the time of 2gether. Win on guitar. Bright on piano. Each other as backing vocals. The dances. The guests.

The birthday celebration.

Even when the lights dimmed, the crowd kept chanting. Bright! Win! Bright! Win! Bright! Win!

A prayer. A blessing. A thanksgiving.
A hope that this was not the end.

And it wasn't.

Win and Bright lit up the stage one more time. Two deities made flesh, appearing for their congregation.

Once again the crowd screamed.
Our bodies didn't know what tired meant that day. Didn't know the word limits.

Kan Goo played one more time.
This time in English.
And like magic, we all knew to sing a song with lyrics we have never encountered before.

We will stay side by side
Wherever you are, I'll be right next to you
If there's anything that comes between you and me
It's love
I own the space beside you
Because we are meant to be together...

Some say this is goodbye concert. Some say it's nothing but a cash grab. Some say this is the boys telling us to move on.

I say, this was coming home.
A promise of now 'til we all grow old.

My family has a very strict Christmas tradition. One that has been observed perhaps for the last 15 years.

This year, I broke it for BrightWin.

And my family understood.
Because love understands.

BrightWin is family too.
