Gabriel POV

“Will you calm down, please?” Gray sighed as he placed a hand on my leg, stopping it from bouncing up and down.

I looked up from my plate and narrowed my eyes at him.

“I can’t.” I said, gritting my teeth. “This day is too fucking long.”

Gray sighed and continued to eat his lunch.

“She is okay, Gabe.” he said. “She is with your dad. You act like you left her with a pack of hungry wolves.”

I rolled my eyes and looked back down at my plate. I couldn’t even finish my lunch.

I just wanted to go back home to her.

What was she doing? Was she okay? Was she warm? Was she hungry? The last time I called my dad he told me that they ate pancakes for breakfast. But did she eat enough?

Did she miss me as much as I missed her?

“I’ve never seen you this worried, Gabe.” Gray said, making me look up at him. “I know that it’s hard, but she is okay.”

I looked back down at my plate and took a deep breath.

“I miss her.” I mumbled. “I just got her back, and every time I’m away from her, I feel like someone is taking her away from me again.”

“No one will take her away, Gabe.” Gray said softly. “She is home, waiting for you.”

I looked up at him again and gave him a small smile.

Gray wanted to say something else, but we were interrupted by the most annoying voice in the world.

Janet.

“Hey, Gabe.” she said, sitting down next to me and sliding her hand up my thigh.

I grabbed her hand and moved it away.

“What do you want?” I sighed.

“Where were you?” she pouted. “You’ve been gone for days, and you haven’t been answering my messages.”

Gray sighed and rolled his eyes.

He hated Janet.

I hated Janet.

I really should be more careful when selecting girls. Getting my dick wet really wasn’t worth this torture.

“That is none of your business, Janet.” I said coldly.

Janet sighed, placing her hand back on my thigh.

“Come on, Gabe.” she said, leaning in. “I know that I mean something to you. Why are you fighting this?”

Gray snorted, making Janet frown.

“You mean nothing to me, Janet.” I said coldly as I moved her hand from my thigh. “We fucked a couple of times, nothing else. Get over it.”

Janet clenched her fists and narrowed her eyes at me.

“You will regret this, Gabriel.” she said, pointing her finger at me. “We could have been a great couple. You just had to mess it up.”

I sighed and rolled my eyes.

“Oh, and Gray, that poor little girl you defended the other day isn’t going to this school anymore.” Janet said mockingly, looking from me to Gray. “You will have to find a new charity case.”

I saw fucking red.

I looked at her and clenched my fists, reminding myself not to punch the bitch.

“You will stay the fuck away from that girl.” I said coldly, not recognizing my own voice. “If you hurt a hair on her head, I will beat the living shit out of you. Am I clear?”

Janet widened her eyes. She stayed silent for a few moments.

“Is that why you broke up with me?” she asked angrily. “You are with that little bitch now, aren’t you?”

Anger exploded inside of me, and my vision blackened for a few seconds.

“She is my sister.” I said, gritting my teeth so hard that I almost broke my jaw. “You touch her, insult her, or just look at her the wrong way, you will have to deal with me. I will become your worst fucking nightmare, Janet. Don’t test me.”

Her eyes widened even more. She looked from me to Gray.

“Sister?” she asked.

“Did I make myself clear, Janet?” I asked, ignoring her question.

She gulped and looked back at me. She gave me a small nod, stood up, and walked away from our table.

“You should have led with that.” Gray smirked. “We could have gotten rid of her way sooner.”

“I will kill her if he touches Aria.” I said, stating at Janet as she walked away.

“She won’t.” Gray said sternly. “We won’t let her.”

I looked at Gray and gave him a small smile. I liked how protective he was of Aria. It meant that I had someone in this school who I could count on.

“Thank you, Gray.” I said softly.

“No need to thank me, Gabe.” Gray said, taking my hand in his. “She is your twin, and she is the most important person to you. That makes her very valuable to me. Also, I think that she is the cutest thing on this planet, and I feel this need to protect her from everything and everyone.”

“She looks like me.” I grinned. “Of course she is cute.”

Gray let my hand go and rolled his eyes.

“Down boy.” he said. “That kind of attitude got you Janet. Maybe change it a little.”

I snorted and rolled my eyes.

“I can’t control the hotness and cuteness.” I said. “It’s a gift.”

Gray rolled his eyes and mumbled something about me being full of myself.

I chuckled and patted Gray’s back.

The door to the cafeteria opened, and I saw a middle-aged man walking inside with a broom in his hand.

“We have a new janitor?” I asked Gray, as I looked back at my plate and picked up my fork. “What happened to Mr. Davis?”

“He broke his leg.” Gray said. “This guy is his replacement. I think his name is Roger or something like that. He is a little weird.”

I nodded, picking up the food with my fork.

I checked the time again.

Just a couple more hours.

I took a deep breath and started chewing my food.

Just a couple more hours, and I would be back with my sister.

I really fucking missed her. I couldn’t wait to go back home and assure myself that she was okay. I wanted to see the smile on her beautiful face. I wanted to hug her and kiss her. I needed her to be safe. I didn’t know what I would do if something happened to her.
