"Miss Kaele." I jumped startled. If anyone found me in here, I would be in big trouble. I hurriedly gathered the papers and put them back into the file.

I made my way to the door, slowly opening it and I peeked out before I could step out. There were guards in the distance but weren't facing in the office's direction.

I slipped through the little space of the open door and quickly ran to the end of the hall where I hid. I breathed out composing myself before I walked out to the guards.

"Do you need something?"

"Someone's here for you." One of the men spoke.

Who could possibly be here for me?

"Miss Kaele." I turned to the stairs where a lady came running down. "Hi I'm Robyn Mr Lucciano's assistant." She spoke quickly.

"Hi ...... um." I uttered, lost. She seemed to be a very jovial and active person. She kept smiling at me all the while.

"I hope you're well rested?" She asked and I shook my head. "Well you need to rest later tonight Mr Lucciano needs you and I need to get you ready. I have the doctor waiting outside, should I let him in?"

I nodded and she had one of the men get the doctor.

I was in need of a check up.

After half an hour or so, my check up was done. Luckily I was fine but stressed out.

I rested and by the time I was up it was late in the afternoon, and Robyn was kind enough to help me and wait while I rested.

But immediately I got up it was time to get ready. I freshened up real quick and had a hairstylist and makeup artist all over me. I could barely even smile, I honestly didn't want to be doing any of this.

I had some nude makeup on and my hair was styled into a chignon with loose strands framing my face.

"I was tasked with picking out a dress for you. I didn't know which one you'd like so I got four different ones." She showed me the dresses. They were all beautiful but I was in the mood for something simple.

"I like this one more." I said pointing at the dress of soft black jersey, a long sleeved high neck.

"He told me you prefer long sleeved clothes so I got these. I'm glad you like like one."

"I like them all but I think this one is befitting." I took it from her and made my way to the bathroom to put it on.

The dress clung to my curves so perfectly and the fabric felt soft on my skin. Not forgetting I felt a little chilly so this was perfect, I could only hope Lucciano would like it too.

I got out of the room and she helped me put on the remaining accessories like rings and a diamond bracelet. I couldn't help but feel it was a bit too much but I had started growing accustomed to Lucciano's ways of wining me. And I loved it.

I sat in the back of his Bentley sinking into the soft seats as his driver drove me to my destination with another car behind us filled with security.

I watched as the city lights flew by. I loved the night time but it didn't seem to lift up my spirit like it always did.

If this was another gala event, I don't think I'd be able to make it halfway through. I didn't want to socialise but what could I do? Lucciano always had his way.

The car stopped right in front of a seven star hotel, I was calm and ready as a valet came and opened the door for me.

The guards immediately surrounded me, and walked with me to the entrance of the hotel where a lady and a man, the managers ashered us in to the elevator.

Doors spread open and there he stood looking as handsome as ever in his all black, with a black collar. His unruly black hair neatly combed back with a few loose curls at the top. The god like creature walked towards me, glaring at me devilishly, in devastatingly attractive manner like he saw something he liked. A predator waiting to devour his prey.

He put his hand out to me and I took it without hesitation. He gave a brief nod to the management and turned his attention to me as they left.

"What's all this, Christoph?" I stared into his deep grey eyes as they focused on me. "Dinner..." His eyes ran all over my body, "a dinner date." He finished. I couldn't help but smile. "You weren't feeling too good so I planned this." I gazed around the beautifully decorated hall, it was only us with an pianist in the background playing beautiful sonatas to lightening the atmosphere.

"Until now you've only experienced one side of my life and that's the business side." We walked to our table as he spoke. "Today," he pulled a chair out for me. "I want you to experience the luxurious side." I smiled looking up at him.

He took his seat and my eyes explored the hall once more particularly the large balcony that let in the beautiful city lights.

"This is beautiful Christoph."

"I'll have you know that I've never done anything like this for anyone."

"That makes me special, huh?" I joked.

"You're more than that." I smiled, fixing my eyes on the dancing flames of the candles as champagne was poured for us.

"How was your stay at Demetrio's?"

"It was great."

"Better than your stay at mine?

"Well Demetrio and I had a lot to talk about. You and I barely have real conversations."

"Really?" He took a sip of his champagne

"Yeah. I think." I smiled and his lips too curved into a smirk. "We only either fight or confront, that's it."

"Then... Let's change that." He arched an eyebrow causing me to choke on the bubbly drink. Just his look made me feel things. It's amazing, the hold he has on me.

We conversated not about the mafia, my father or anything triggering. We spoke of normal things. Things that got us to learn more about each other.

And I liked what I heard.

Within that moment the hors d'oeuvre was served and we dined through it our conversation never dying out.
