A giggle erupted out of him.
He couldn't help it. The small, wimpering child that he had fought against. A child, at that! He couldn't believe it. It was rather hilarious.
Another giggle procured, followed by another. He started to snicker, peering through his blonde eyelashes to gaze at her. Ladybug.
"You know, your spots were never to my taste", he giggled, tracing his finger along the child's shoulder. A child. He couldn't believe his eyes. "I do believe the choice of material was rather ill-fitting; spandex never holds well over time. In fact, the material is practically useless once it hits the" he lowered his glasses "one year mark."
The quivering teenager glared at him through her tears. "I-"
"Now, now, you mustn't fuss", said the man, tsking as he stepped back to gaze over his victory. "After all, there is no hope for you"
Time seemed to stand still as he realized.
After all this time, he won.
Hawkmoth had won.
Grinning, as Gabriel Agreste had not done since Emily had passed, he began to laugh.
