You couldn't recall if the memories that flooded in upon opening your eyes were a fever dream or had actually happened a few hours ago.

Judging by the amount of light from the window, it was around eight or nine in the morning. You normally would've gotten up just before the sun peeked over, but thanks to a certain individual who kept talking to you all night along... This monstrosity would poke at your cheek until you responded to his questions or comments. It would be a pleasant surprise to not have eye bags today. Escaping from the grasp was surprisingly easy. You just grabbed two pillows and shoved them into his arms the moment you crawled out. Kunikuzushi became a rather deep sleeper whenever laying beside yourself.

Signora's words echoed in your head.

"Snezhaya is the most technology evolved civilization out of all seven. All kinds of researches and experiments can be performed whenever, and whatever you wish." The woman stated blankly without a drop of sympathy in her voice.

Brows furrowing slightly, you raised your head and met her eyes. "...Experiment?"

"There has to be some 'lab rats' for the sake of humans, no?" Signora plainly replied. You pursed your lips into a thin line. As much as you were disgusted by the mere concept, it would be nice not having to inject or take unconfirmed remedies yourself all the time.. But it's all meaningless if that role must be passed onto someone else in order for you to be free from the job. Yet another sigh escaped your lips. "Tell me more."

"Hmph, keep in mind I am no paid informanent of yours." The harbinger tsked before finally taking a sip of her cooled down tea. "But I assume you would be interested in the royal doctor?"

Il Dottore. You had heard of the name a few times in your journey. He was known for his many achievements in technology and medical areas. Despite the fame coating and dripping from his mere title, sensei remembered to teach you of all the lives that he used as stepping stones to get to that place. Still, he was technically working for the better of majority..?

No. Each life is precious as the other. No life should be in vain for the better of more ones.

"I do respect him as a researcher, but as a doctor.. I think it would be difficult for me to work with someone with only so different views as me." You admitted softly and stared at your reflection on the surface of your own drink.
