Was the world always this dark?

I can't feel anything. I don't even hear my own breathing or the soft thumping of my heart. But I do hear a faint ticking somewhere very far away. There's nothing beneath my feet to support my weight. I'm just.. existing. Am I still alive? Wait, what about Lumine and Paimon?

Signora? Kunikuzushi? Where am I, what happened, and how did I get here... It's so cold but burning at the same time. I can't die yet, there's too many people relying on me...

Nothing moves to my command. It feels like the whole world is sitting on top of my chest, suffocating me.

"Y/....."

Is someone calling me? The voice sounds too familiar. Where have I heard this before..?

"Y/n....."

I want to answer them. As expected, my mouth doesn't obey my commands.

"Y/n, you b...."

...Was that supposed to be an insult?

"How are you sleeping at a time like this? Wake up."

That genuinely hurt. Huh- sleeping?

"Wake up."

Who are you? What is this place? Who.. am I?

"GET UP!"

...

Your head rang before a bright light entered your field of vision, the mysterious voice fading away into the distance. Upon flickering your fingers, they moved as you intended them to.

The first thing that you caught sight of after regaining focus was Signora rushing towards Makoto. Her face was filled with rage of all colours, while her opponent's was stone solid with resolution. The princess merely stood without faltering, observing the foreign soldier without an ounce of sympathy.

"Filthy rats.. ALL OF YOU!" Signora roared out as she ran towards her new opponent.

Electricity sparked around the arena, everyone could feel the sheer electro energy tingling their senses. The Raiden closed her eyes and bended her head slightly back. A sword hilt was visible beneath her chin, rising from the space between her chests. Ribbons of electro shot out as Makoto fully pulled out the glowing sword.
She slowly walked down the stairs, and it seemed that time stopped. Before you knew it, Makoto was across the arena, her sword now facing down. The zaps of energy had already begun to fade.
