An artist's view

Poetry was never special, it is just perception
The lyrics of a song that you don't sing out loud
It's writing about a reality
That no artist can tolerate

It's seeing a soul through their lover's eye
Its telling that it's okay to be broken
Because that's how the light gets in
It's praising every atom
It's complaining and some ranting
It's just crying on paper

Poetry is storytelling, the script of a movie
Ancient hand written letters,
Spilled coffee on satin sheets,
Its the color theory and every mythology
It's painting on a river bank
And star gazing on the terrace

It's the excitement of first love
The feelings of butterflies in stomach
The grief of letting go
Reliving the moments to and fro
It's every emotion written down

Its tears turned into ink
It's making eternity in pinky promises
The intoxication I drink
The drug in my veins, heroin

It's when the skies are a bit prettier
When the ocean sounds merrier
It's when I want to jump off my building,
When I want to drown and sink in
It's making the dead immortal
Its everything in nothing
