I envy you
I envy the way you say things so easily
I envy the way you don't mean any of it
I envy the way you see your friend in me
The way the stars land on your face
And moonlight brushes your hair
The way god created you
The way you're the siren in my dreams
How you sing my heartbeats and-
drag me into the seaI envy your oblivion
And your beauty
I envy how you're the prophecy in my oracle
I envy the way except you I know nothing
I'm jealous of your eyes that make me sin
I hate the way for you I'd do anything
Where's my reason and conscience?I'm scared of what's to come
But that smile makes it easier
I envy the way I love you
And the way you don't
Let me take you how greed takes the rich
How disease embraces the sick
How death never leaves place for glee
Let me have you whole, let me take you fullyIm jealous of your innocence and bliss
How I comfort myself saying, it's just a phase
You don't love them, please don't love them
Look at me in another lifetime, I promise I'll try
I'll caress your freckles that scream spring
And the hands with scars that no longer stingWhere do I place this love
All closets fail and no book has a page
Neither people with a heart to contain my love nor pain
My love is the biggest and most soulful thing I have
My love is the thing I hateI envy you
And I envy the way I can't say that-
I love you
