2, Chase Hartley is the younger brother of Samantha Hartley. Through him we see her in a different light. He's an innocent, little boy who makes his appearance later on in the book.
Osman Muhammad

15, Osman Muhammad is the youngest child of the Muhammad aka Syeda's younger brother. He is what everyone sees as the 'spoilt brat' but really he is a good person at heart. He makes a vague but meaningful appearance later on in the book.
Malik Abdur-Rehman

4, Malik Abdur-Rehman is an intellegent, smart and mature orphan. He lost his parents in a car crash, whilst he was in elememtary, when he was just 2. He has a Palestinian background. He can understand and can speak little of Urdu and Arabic as he was taught by the person who was looking after him in the orphanage. Him and Syeda share a strong and inseparable bond. Makes his grand entrance in Chapter 22, part 2.
