Ch 23

 A half hour, Carly finished unpacking and walks out of her room into the kitchen

Carly: "hey mom, what are you doing?"

Jannet: "I'm just cleaning up. Are you hungry at all, I can make you something to eat if you would like"

Carly: "I'm fine for now mom, Ash and I picked up In N Out on the way over

Jannet: "of course you did"

Jannet chuckles while she continues to clean up and talk with her youngest daughter 

Carly: "do you need help with preparing food for Thursday?"

Jannet: "no I'm fine, I'm not cooking until Tuesday. Besides,  Alicia is coming over to help"4

Carly: "mom, thanksgiving is on Thursday"

Jannet: "so? We are cooking for 6 people and  both your sister and father eat for 2 people"

Both women laugh

Jannet: "do you have any plans while you're over here?"

Carly: "not really. I do want to go to the pier before heading back. The only thing is I'm going to have to catch a ride with ash or call a taxi"

Jannet: "nonsense, you can take my car instead of relying on Ash or taking a cab"

Carly: "don't you need your car?""

Jannet: "I won't be going anywhere and if I do, I can take your dad's car."

Carly: "you sure, mom?"

Jannet: "I'm sure. Besides, it's been a while since you've been back. You deserve some freedom instead of being locked up all week in the house"

Carly smiles and walks back to the den to join her dad. Walking into the den, she sits down on the brown couch closest to the door

Henry: "how are you settling back in?"

Carly: "I've missed being home, being in New York city is nice but there is only so much over there. Over here, i have my friends, sister, and then the rest of my family"

Henry: "how are you feeling? A few more months and then you're done with college, how are you feeling about all of this?"

The Keelin daughter takes a deep breath

Carly: "i have so many emotions. Im excited but also kind of sad. Shocker, I know. Ive learned a lot that will help me with my possible future job. I met a lot of great people there, my friend lizzie, oh and Karen. You know Doctor Who, right?"

Henry: yes, Kendall introduced me to that series"

Carly: "well, my friend Karen whom I met back in New York plays Amy pond on doctor who

Henry: you mean you're friends with a famous actress? How is that possible?"

Both father and daughter laugh

Carly: "i have no clue"

A few hours later

Kendall: "dad, Carly, I'm here"

Carly: "kendall!"

The younger Keelin jumps to her sister, engulfing her into a hug

Kendall: "hey Carly. How was your flight?"

Carly: "it's been better other times. why didn't you tell me Ash was picking me up

Kendall: "because they thought it would be funny to prank you"
