[B.B] Panic attack

「Summary」: Reader has a panic attack after a nightmare. Bucky comes home and finds her unconscious. He takes care of her after the attack and makes sure that she can smile again.

Alternate waves of heat and cold were crashing over Y/N's body on that warm afternoon in summer. She sat on the edge of her bed, her toes barely reaching the cold floor underneath her and her hands were clenching the edge of the wooden bedframe. Her vision was blurry and black dots were dancing in front of it while she fought really hard against the upcoming unconsciousness. 

She knew that it was just a dream, but it felt so real. So damn real. 

The annoying shriek of the tinnitus in her ears became louder with every breath that she was not able to take properly - like her body was screaming at her to get some oxygen in the system. But she couldn't. She couldn't breath. Too heavy was the weight inside of her chest that prevented her from taking deep breaths. It was all just too heavy. In her panic her heart was beating so fast that she was scared it would burst out of her rib cage.

All her senses were malfunctioning and so she didn't realize that the door to her room opened and someone stepped into the room - running towards her when he saw her struggling. The last thing she saw was a cerulean color before her world started to turn black and her body gave up. She felt herself falling to the side as if the bed was pulling at her like a magnet. She felt her face reach the comfortable mattress and heard a familiar voice scream her name but it was too muffled and she was so exhausted. And suddenly everything was black. Nothing to be seen. Nothing to be heard.

When Bucky watched his girlfriend faint right in front of him, panic arose inside of his chest. He didn't understand what was going on with her as he found her in this delirious state after coming home from a mission. He knew that she was regularly having panic attacks - caused by a trauma of her past. Five years ago she and her former boyfriend had a horrible car accident that lead to his death and she being in a coma for almost a month. She had told him that while being sedated she was living the hell of the accident over and over again and she couldn't do anything to prevent her boyfriend from dying. For a month straight she was forced to watch him die and look into his lifeless and blood stained face. 

It took her almost a year until she was able to sit in a car again and almost another year until she was able to drive with one. But not without strong medication to prevent upcoming panic attacks.

Ever since she met Bucky in that book store two years ago she started to recover - feeling safe in his company. The fact that he was a super soldier came handy for her as she realized that it took a lot to knock this man off his feet. Of course he knew that she was scared every time he was out on a mission but he had already texted her four hours ago that the mission was a success and that they were on their way back home from Mexico. She had even answered him that she couldn't wait to see him again.
