Chapter 13: Unfortunate accident

Tessa's pov:

I wake up to my best friend aggressively shaking me and telling me to get up. Damn, why so angry. It's like- 8am...Jesus, what's wrong with him.

"Tessie! Tessie! Wake up!"

"I'm up, I'm up. Stop shaking me, you're gonna blow the last working cells out of me" I say, sitting up in bed

"Do you know where we're going today?!" he yells excitedly and I rub my eyes

"Enlighten me" I yawn, still not really knowing what the hell is going on

"Lizzie's taking us to the set today!"

"Uh- well, that's great" I answer

"That's great? That's freaking brilliant! We're gonna meet all the avengers!" he widens his eyes so much that they look like they're gonna pop out in a minute

Oh, I forgot he's the biggest marvel fan.

I slowly get out of bed and prepare myself for the day. I decide to wear sweatpants that I borrowed from Lizzie and some old, blue t-shirt. It's my dad's. It doesn't smell like him anymore.

I'm slowly running out of my clothes. I can't ask Lizzie to spend money on me. That would be just embarrassing and I wouldn't feel good with that.

I lumber to the kitchen and notice the breakfast on the table, waiting for me since Lizzie and Theo already ate. Now, that's a pressure.

"Good morning, sweetie. How are you feeling?" Lizzie asks me, sipping on her coffee

"Hi. I'm okay, I guess" I mumble the last part so she doesn't hear

"I made you breakfast..." she starts, looking at me, trying to read my face

I know she wants to take it all slow after yesterday. I don't even know what I was doing. I didn't wanna disappoint anyone, but that includes myself. I eat - I disappoint myself, I don't eat - I disappoint everyone else. I hate how that works.

"Theo told me you're taking us to the set today" I try my best to eat the whole, two sandwiches while talking with Lizzie

"Yeah, are you okay with that?"

"Yes, yes, of course. I'm excited, but...kinda anxious. Are you sure we're not gonna be a bother to anyone?" I ask, slowly swallowing a small bit of the meal

"Baby, I'm sure they'll love you. Besides, I'm gonna be there with you so you don't gotta stress out. And if not me there's gonna be Scarlett and Chris around. It'll be okay, buttercup" she assures me, softly smiling

"Yeah, you're probably right" I bubble out, looking down at my lap "Lizzie?"

"Yes?"

"I can't eat more, I'm sorry..."

"That's okay" she responds, again with a concerned look on her face

She takes my plate and puts it in the sink.

God, do not let my die today.

We're getting out of the car and heading towards a big building. Theo's excitement is just too funny for me.

"I simply cannot believe I'm on my way to meet the avengers...like dude, what?! How is this real!"

"T, chill out" I laugh

To be honest, I'm excited as well. Maybe not as much as him, but yes. It's sweet that we get to meet Lizzie's friends and sisters and you know, just get to know the people she's surrounded by.
