Chapter 24: Fun night out

Tessa's pov:

Today is supposed to be fun. I don't want to ruin it. Oh wait...I already did.

Why can't I be normal? Like other children? Just a normal teenage girl. No, I have to be this weird fuck up.

I'm excited to meet all of Lizzie's friends properly, hang out and have fun, but my thoughts are very unclear lately and I've been feeling unlike myself. I don't know what to do.

I hope I'll forget my feelings tonight. No. I hope they fade away forever.

I'm currently getting ready. I thought I'd wear this cute skirt mom bought me when we were shopping, plus my favorite hoodie and that'll be just perfect.

"You look so adorable" Lizzie comments when I walk out of my room

When we get to the place, Lizzie parks the car. She looks at me full of concern.

"Are you gonna be okay? Like really?" she comforts me by putting her hand on my arm

"Yeah. I really want to do this. I'm just a little bit scared" I look down at my lap

"I'm gonna be there the entire time, honey. It's gonna be okay" she leans in to kiss my forehead

We walk into the bar and notice everyone sitting by the table. They all cheer when they see us approaching. There was Scarlett with her husband - Colin, Robert, Chris, Jeremy, Anthony, Sebastian, Mark, the other Chris (Hemsworth) and Florence!

"Hey, you guys!" RDJ greets us, happily

After we all say our hellos and do our hugs, we finally get to sit. I'm sitting with Lizzie on my left and Chris on my right. This way I feel more safe. They make me feel safe.

"So guys, you all know Tessie know" Lizzie starts

"Favorite niece!" Chris (Evans) accidentally spoils it without even realizing

Lizzie looks at him with eyes literally saying 'what the heck'.

"O-oops"

"What?" Jeremy asks, confused

"Well, I'd like to announce that I adopted Tessie. She's my daughter" she looks at me with a big smile

"No way! I finally get to be the Fun Aunt Flo!" Florence exclaims

"No! I'm the Fun Aunt!" Scarlett interrupts her

"You can both be Fun Aunts" I chuckle at them

"Oh my god! That's the coolest thing ever! I never thought I'd get to be the Fun Aunt! Come here, sweets!" Flo tells me, opening her arms

I get up from my place and walk to Aunt Flo. She immediately hugs me and shifts me to sit on her lap.

I don't know why, but I also feel really safe near here. I actually feel comfortable around all of them.

"I love your outfit by the way" she whispers into my ear, smiling

"What about Fun Uncles, huh?" Sebastian asks

"Sorry, guys. I was first, that title's taken for me. I'm the Fun Uncle" Chris pretends to be sorry for them

"Oh, man! Not fair"

We spend the evening, chatting and laughing. I actually did forget about everything else. I feel like I have a family for the first time. They are all so nice and kind, even though they don't know me as long as they know Lizzie.

They actually treat me like family.
