As sundown began to creep closer Eyrina found herself unable to think of anything but the shameless flirting of the boy. She knew he was probably just doing it to watch her reaction as he couldn't possibly be attracted to her. He clearly thought her body was weirdly shaped not to mention the "demon blood" that caused her to have an extra finger. She couldn't help but wish it was something more though.

As she carried on slowly walking down the beach, deep in thought she nearly walked into someone before they grabbed her shoulders. "you alright there rina?" a concerned neteyam voiced still holding onto the girls shoulders. "oh yeah just thinking about having to use spears instead of bows" she chuckled uncertainly. Neteyam smiled "yeah I can't get the hang of it our bows are much stronger" Eyrina laughed softly nodding her head as the two walked together toward the fire where dinner would be had.

Nightfall came quickly making everyone retreat into their marui pods once dinner was over. Eyrina however didn't feel like doing this and decided she'd lie on one of the trees dotted around the edge of the shore to stargaze.

"you know you could spend your nights doing something useful" a voice sounded from below her making her look down. She spotted the owner of the voice and rolled her eyes "is that so? Well what is it that I could be doing" she asked slightly annoyed at the interruption. "well you could practice your diving and stargaze" aonung looked up at the girl hopefully as she considered the idea.

She hopped down from the tree and stood next to the taller boy "OK lead the way fish lips" he grabbed her arm and pulled her toward the sea. She attempted to float down but whenever she would float down too far she'd panic and would begin trying to get back up to the surface.

"OK the key thing to do is to relax you can't do this if you're going to be thrashing like a baby" he sighed as she panicked for the third time. "Hey easy for you to say you've had your whole life to get used to this" Eyrina was frustrated she hated not being able to do something so simple and she felt like a burden. Aonung seemed to consider this looking up thoughtfully "you know when I first learnt to do this my mother would get me to hold onto her hand as we did it" he muttered almost shyly watching Eyrinas reaction carefully.

The thought of this flustered Eyrina but she knew it was just so she could actually get better at diving. She nodded her head hesitantly and he offered his arm for her to hold.

She found herself subconsciously running her hand down the arm to where it extended out. The boy looked at her a mixture of shock and interest at the unexpected action but he didn't move his arm.

The two floated down to the bottom until they rested on the sea floor. She found herself smiling at the flora and fauna which lit up and then at the stars which were surprisingly clear from the water. Aonung used his tail to hold her legs to make sure the current didn't sweep her away.

She felt truly comfortable holding onto the boys arm with his larger tail holding her still. She tried not to look into the actions knowing it meant nothing to him but she couldn't help romanticising it a little bit.

She felt herself start to need air but not wanting to annoy the boy further and honestly not wanting to ruin whatever was happening she just ignored it willing herself to stare at the stars to prevent herself from panicking. Aonung, oblivious to this watched the stars contently trying to not think into why he was so comfortable in this position.

However the grip on his arm became limp suddenly and he quickly realised what had happened. He started to panic desperately pulling the girl up to shore. When he realised she still wasn't breathing he looked around alarmingly trying to figure out what to do. He didn't want to get either of them in trouble for being so foolish so resorted to trying to force the girl to breathe.

He frantically started applying pressure and doing mouth to mouth blowing his air into her mouth. After a few tries she finally starts to cough up the water and opened her eyes weakly. "what urged you to be so stupid" he hissed at her quietly still recovering from his panicked state. "I didn't want to annoy you more I thought I could-" he sighed heavily and rubbed his face "you don't need to impress me I wasn't doing it for you to try drown yourself you skxawng" he hissed softly before his usual smug face returned to his face "if you wanted me to kiss you so bad you didn't need to be so dramatic about it you could have just asked you know" Eyrina sat up quickly at his words and slapped him on his chest quickly scrambling away.

He chuckled at her reaction "well goodnight Aonung ill see you tomorrow and you better not speak of this to anyone" she warned giving him a look making him shrug at her teasingly. She rolled her eyes at him as she ran back to her marui pod feeling slightly out of breathe as she did so and no, it wasn't because of her nearly drowning.
