It had been a few days since the encounter with Aonung and Eyrina hadn't seen him since. She assumed it was due to his duties as the chiefs son he must have to do alot of training in preparation for becoming the olo'ektan. She had spent most of her days with tsireya, rotxo and her siblings. Loak and tsireya were terrible at hiding their crushes for each other constantly giggling and blushing around each other. Eyrina thought it was sweet and thought that tsireya might be good for Loak her sweet and gentle nature overruling his brash and reckless character.
Eyrina was sat with the group as they spoke among themselves as she finished weaving the pearl Aonung had previously given her into a necklace for herself. She couldn't help herself as the pearl was absolutely gorgeous plus it would be more secure as a necklace than just in her pouch. When she finished it she asked neteyam to help her put it on and smiled at the compliments she received for her weaving.
"wow rina that's beautiful where did you find that pearl?" tsireya asked as she studied the necklace. "oh aonung just kinda shoved it into my hand one day" Eyrina giggled remembering how quickly he had swam off after. Tsireyas eyes widened for a split second before a knowing smile went on her face "oh is that so" her and rotxo exchanged a look before changing the subject quickly.
Rotxo and Tsireya decided to show the group their tree of ancestors. Eyrina was so excited she felt like she hadn't connected to eywa in far too long. They guided them as they swam on their ilus making their way to a cave like entrance. The tree was underwater and had the same pink hue surrounding the fronds as the spirit tree in the forest however rather than the hanging leaves this tree had floating fronds. Above the water there were floating rocks surrounding the tree. The forest siblings looked in awe at the beauty around them.
They all swam down and Rotxo and Tsireya agreed to watch the Sullys as they connect to the tree as they explained at least two people must go together so they can have someone to watch over them in the dissociated state. When Eyrina connected to the frond it felt like she was given a breath of fresh air as she was taken back to her home, the forest.
She would often communicate with her grandfather, a great olo'ektan of the omaticaya people before her father. She knew he was a strong leader and he would often applaud her on her warrior abilities. However this time was different.
She wandered through the forest taking in the scents and sounds that surrounded her that she missed so dearly when suddenly she heard the familiar sound of the sea. She looked around and saw the metkayina island in a reflection of the river. As she looked closely she saw herself but slightly older. She saw another person who she couldn't make out. It was definetly a metkayina boy or should she say man as he stood with broad shoulders at a much greater height than her. Her and this mystery na'vi stood hand in hand before she saw them take their queues and join them. She quickly disconnected herself in shock not know what had just happened.
Suddenly everything started to pulsate and she saw kiris body twitching violently she swam over and helped the others drag her up.
"is she breathing?" rotxo desperately watched as neteyam gave Kiri mouth to mouth. Eyrina could barely focus on what was happening as she watched the scene unfold.Thankfully kiri started breathing but didn't awaken "quick take her to mother and father" Eyrina urged getting onto her ilu in a hurry. Neteyam went as fast as he could holding kiri as he went to get help. Tuk, who had begun to cry, clinged onto Eyrina for comfort as they followed. Eyrina tried her best to comfort her baby sister but it was difficult when she herself had no idea what was happening. She felt so lost.
Jake and Neytiri immediately took kiri and called on Norm and Max to come to see what was wrong. Norm and Jake exchanged a quick hug as they ran in to evaluate kiris health.
The tsahik came in with her supplies but immediately stopped when she saw the humans with their machines attached to Kiri. "I see I am not needed here" she said harshly beginning to back out of the marui. Neytiri quickly grabbed her arm hissing "no you are tsahik" Ronal thought this over "get these things out of here then" neytiri immediately started to usher the humans out "out you have done nothing!" she hissed norm quickly took the iv out and went to discuss what they saw with Jake.
Eyrina watched intently as the tsahik got to work on kiri. She held her basket of things for her desperate to help in any way she could. Eyrina had always found the tsahiks rituals intriguing always watching and learning from mo'at whenever she was permitted. Eventually kiri began to awaken "kiri!" tuk said excitedly as the girl looked around frantically. Ronal left with her tools leaving the family to have a moment together. Kiri began to sob as neytiri held her "oh my sweet girl" she whispered soothingly as she tried to comfort the distraught girl. Eyrina resorted to simply stroking her hand not wanting to overwhelm the girl with too much codling but wanting to show her support.
When everyone had recovered from the shock a solemn looking Jake told Kiri she could no longer connect to the spirit tree underwater as she could die if so. Neytiri protested as did Kiri but they all decided it just couldnt be risked her life was far too precious. Kiri wanted to be left alone so, respecting her wishes, everyone went about as normal as they could.
