5 years later

"Mommy! Dad!"

I opened my eyes to see Yeon running in our room, all happy in her pajamas. But I was nuzzled into San's chest and he held me tightly like I was gonna vanish away so I don't move

"Dad!"she screamed and jumped on the bed, trying to separate me from him

He groaned, pulling her in between us. She giggled, rolling in betwen. I kissed her on head and fixed her hair, looking at San who smiled at both of us

"Dad? Do you know what day is today?"she sat on his torso

He hummed, shaking his head. Yeon gasped and whined, scrunching her face

"Mum! Dad doesn't know what day is today!"she whined

At this age, she had more features from Wooyoung than she did from me and San saw it too. Her shape of eyes, her smile...Even mole he had, she has on the same place under left eye

"Shame on you San"I clicked my tongue "You don't know what day today is"

"I don't"he pretended to be confused "What is it?"

"Today is my birthday!"she jumped on the bed excitedly "And I'll be having birthday party, right?"

"Of course you will princess!"I pulled her in the hug, combing her head in two pretty tails I planned on braiding "Happy birthday sweetheart"

"Thank you mum"she kissed me on cheek "Minhyun said he'll come soon, so I need to dress prettily!"she cupped her cheeks and ran out of bedroom, to her room

"Dress prettily? Is there something going on between those two that I don't know about?"San asked

I rolled my eyes and stood up to make a bed with him

"Stop dramatizing. They're just friends and that boy grew up with her"

"And that boy and her will grow up together too..Byeol, it's gonna be a problem if they end up dating"

"Why would it be?"I changed "Hongjoong and I raised him. He's a nice, kind boy with manners like his dad and I believe he would be good for our Yeon"

"Byeol!"he yelled, nearly tripping over his sweatpants when he was changing

"Gosh..just calm down. It's only 9am. Go check on your son"

He grunted and kissed me before leaving in his room. They said first year of marriage is challenging hell, but it wasn't for San and me.

The more we spent talking about anything that bugged us as we promised each other, more and better we worked.

Years passed by so fast, Yeon and Minhyun grew fast too and there were times when Yeon cried for San, wanting him next to her.

Then San had hard time explaining he would be back, saying it's a business trip. But how to explain when he would return with a bruise on his face or on his body

It wasn't easy for us because both of our kids are still too little to understand his job, but so far they understood whenever he left, he would be back. Same challenge went for Dayeon and Seonghwa and their two daughters who were 5.

They also couldn't understand why their dad had to leave mostly all the time and sometimes returned with bruises on his face and body and why their mum cried while treating his wounds

She gave birth to them maybe 20 days after Yeon's first birthday and we knew they were freaking out three days before day was due. We received a call from Seonghwa that Dayeon was going into labor one night around 8pm
