"I'm so sorry!" She said sarcastically while grinning.
I may have been embrassed in my life before but nowhere near as bad as this, everyone had their phones out; taking pictures, videos everything and of course it would all be on the internet later.
I did what anyone would have done; grabbed my bag and ran out of the cafetaria door. I should have stopped, and walked back to the school for my next three lessons, but I didn't. I just kept running and running until I was nearly going to pass out.
What would I do now? I couldn't go back to school now, no way. I couldn't go back to dad's now either, I had my university fund to think of, so I went the one place dad would be extremely mad of me going to this week, during his time, I walked to my mom's house.
The walk was long and I got lost once or twice but eventually I found the place and walked up to the stairs around the back that lead to the back door of mom's house. I could have walked round the front but it was liekly that a bunch of drunken teenage boys would be playing chicken in the road or something and I didn't want to get involved.
I searched through my bag until I found my spare key and unlocked the door, to reveal my mother lounged on the sofa in a long red shirt and a pair of white shorts holding a bottle of Sprite, as soon as she saw me; she tensed up.
"Chill, relax mom. It's just me." I heard her breathe a sigh of relieve before sitting up, I sat next to her as she unscrewed the bottle lid and poured herself a glass, she saw me staring at her.
"Do you want a glass?" She asked and I shook my head.
"Then can you please stop staring at me." That was it, I looked away and screwed up my eyes. But that wasn't enough to contain my mixed emotions, the tears came flooding out; I felt myself being pulled into a tight hug with my mom.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you." She said as she pulled away.
"It's not you, it's-" I made gestures with my hands trying to explain it "It's everyone else, I'm sick of always being the weakest, getting picked on has always been part of my high school routine. Just because I don't fit in any of their dumb social groups, it's fine for Vanessa and Cassandra, they are so pretty and can easily ditch me and just jump into a new group of friends and live the high life for once." I wiped my eyes with my sweater sleeve.
"Don't be silly, you have been friends with those girls since you were in diapers. I know that they are decent people and would never ditch you just to be part of some silly parade of Barbies." I looked up into my mother's eyes; they were a similar shade of deep blue ocean.
"I know that, I just wish I could fitted in and be more normal." I tugged my hair to release it from the 2 ponytails.
"You are normal." She said, passing me a glass full of Sprite.
"Yeah, I'm a 17 year old girl with extraordinary grades and an appealing fashion sense, whose idea of fun is staying at home writing pathetic songs and poems, totally normal." I cupped my face with my hands.
"You should be proud of your grades and embrace all your talents, you sing like and angel and you have a gift that when you touch any instrument you instantly figure out how to knock out a tune on it."
"Someone at school said I dress like a mad woman from the 50's or 60's"
"Okay, you do have to admit you don't have a hip-ultra modern style, or to put it bluntly my nan would not be seen dead in that!" I laughed and took a sip of my drink, before looking back at my mom; she had her idea face on.
"What is it?" I asked her.
"How bad is it at school, with the bullying? From a scale of 1 to 10?"
"Terrible and 12."
"How about me and your bestfriends give you a makeover?" I opened my mouth, probably making a massive 'O' shape.
"Makeover?!" I asked, half confused and half shocked.
