Whenever he fell asleep, he felt as if he were being consumed by death itself. It enveloped him completely, leading him into a deep slumber filled with visions of the wooded landscapes near his home. In this dark and immersive slumber, he found himself wandering through the memories of his waking life. While it is often said that dreams can manifest into reality, what many fail to realize is that nightmares are also a form of dreaming. Taehyung lay in bed, sweating and tossing restlessly as he struggled with a haunting dream.
"No!"
"No....no......." Whispers escaped his lips, his features twisted in terror as he endured the horrors playing out in his dream.
"Soonjin!"
"Huh....aggh....Jihoon!!!"
"JIHOON!!!" With a sudden, forceful start, he snapped awake, gasping for air and clutching his chest in a panic.
"What kind of dream was that?!"
"Ugh...Jihoon...Soonjin??" As Taehyung struggled to gather his thoughts while lying in bed, he finally found the strength to get up and put on a pair of pants and a cozy flannel shirt. Glancing at the clock, he realized that he was already fifteen minutes late for his sons' practice. With a resigned sigh, he hurried out of his room and made his way downstairs, only to be surprised by the sight of Jisoo emerging from the attic with Taeyong and Yoonsoo in tow.
"Sweetheart?" Jisoo uttered as she saw the exhaustion in his eyes. Without hesitation, she moved closer and gently cupped his face with her hand.
"What's wrong?"
"Why do you look so tired? Have you slept at all?" Jisoo asked worriedly. Taehyung answered with a soft smile and leaned in to kiss her. His rough yet warm lips brushed against hers as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Bad dream!"
"That's all!"
"Now it's time for me to go with the children to teach them...just be careful and remember not to push yourself too hard, please!"
"I really wish I could stay, especially since you're so close to giving birth and it makes me anxious...but I have to go...I have to show them how important it is to support each other, especially today."
"Lately our children have been acting strangely towards each other, it's like I'm seeing my brother and me all over again!"
"I don't want them to go down that road!" Taehyung said with a sad look in his eyes, making Jisoo feel his pain. She nodded in understanding and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
"Stay alert and don't let it overwhelm you!"
"I have faith in the good hearts of our boys!"
"They may bicker, but deep down they care for each other," she reassured him. Taehyung grinned and stroked her belly.
