Conflicting emotions swirled inside him as he watched his son bid farewell to the kingdom. Initially, he had been filled with a sense of pride and confidence when he woke up that morning, knowing his son was embarking on a journey to explore new horizons. However, as he observed the chaos and greed surrounding the relics in the courtroom, doubt began to creep in. What had seemed right now felt terribly wrong.
"I trust you to look after him, Jinhee!"
As he gripped the balcony tightly, he silently pleaded for his son's safety. His gaze remained fixed on the ship disappearing into the vast ocean. Despite hearing his wife's sobs, he refused to show his own emotions, knowing it would only add to her distress.
"Everything will be fine," he whispered reassuringly, clasping her hand tenderly. Jisoo tilted her head, meeting his gaze and recognizing the worry in his eyes. The sight tugged at her heart, yet she masked her own emotions, determined to convey trust to him, even though she harbored doubts within herself.
"I have to check on the kids!" Jisoo exclaimed, pulling her hand away and retreating back indoors. Taehyung felt a weight settle in his chest as he watched her go, understanding in that moment that she could always see past his facade, no matter what.

The castle bustled with guests and delegates from various realms, gathered to bid farewell to one of the king's sons. Amidst the joyous laughter, clinking glasses, feasting, music, and merriment, there was one conspicuous absence - the king and queen.
"Your Majesty?" Taehyung heard a voice call out from the far right corner and instantly recognized it.
"Kijung."
"How are things outside?" Taehyung inquired, turning to face him. Kijung straightened his posture before replying.
"Everything is under control, Your Majesty," Kijung replied, his gaze unwavering.
"And my wife?" Taehyung inquired anxiously.
"Have you located her?" he added, noticing Kijung's smile, which brought him immense relief.
"She's with your sons, Your Majesty," Taehyung heard, prompting him to approach the window with a measured pace.
"She's not upset, is she?" he asked, as Kijung moved closer and stood beside him at the window.
"She's doing well,"
"The Queen is perfectly fine, Your Majesty," Kijung assured him. Taehyung took a deep breath and gazed out of the window. The sun was gently setting, casting a picturesque glow over the landscape.
"You know, Kijung," Taehyung spoke after a prolonged silence, his eyes fixed on the serene vista before him.
"It's not wrong to hope for the best as long as you're ready for the worst."
