chapter 2: school memories

It was awhile but the ship was close to beacon, where Cas was walking around seeing if he could meet someone nice enough to be friends with.

He had no luck, till he noticed a girl with purple hair reading a comic of "killer love".

Hey, you reading "killer love"? Cas asked.

Oh yeah, go ahead and call me a comic weeb, she said.

I actually read that comic, i loved it, Cas said. 

Really! It's great to meet someone with great taste, my name is Nairi Farrell, she said.

Nice to meet you, I'm Cas Mccann, not to scare you but I have Amnesia, Cas said.

Amnesia? Oh, im very sorry, Nairi said. 

No need to apologize, but I've been trying to open my suitcase to see if it holds my memories, Cas said.

Why not just open it now? Some else said.

The two looked to see a boy whose hair was buzzcutted, and handmade machinery wrapping around his body.

Oh hey Anika, Nairu said.

You friends with him? Cas said.

Yep, we know each other from our parents, Anika said.

Well nice to meet you, name's Cas Mccann, he said.

Huh, nice to meet you, last name is Waller, Anika said.

Cas soon looked at the machinery on his body.

What's with the parts? Cas asked.

Oh my grandfather made this, he gave it to me when i enrolled in beacon, Anika said.

Alright, Cas said.

Something i noticed, you don't have a weapon, Nairi said.

Oh i have claws in my hands, Cas said.

He then held out his hand and attracted his claws.

Whoa! I have never seen a huntsman have that ability, what do you have? Anika said.

He can't, he says he has Amnesia, Niara said.

Oh i didn't realize, sorry, Anika said.

Just then the ship had started to land.

Oh looks like we made it to beacon, let's go, Niara said.

They then left the ship to see beacon academy in front of them.

Hahaha, beacon academy here we come, Anika said.

So what made you guys enroll in beacon? Cas said.

Egh, money, Niara said.

Mother told me I was best as a huntsman, Anika said.

Hmm, Cas grunted.

He soon noticed that his shoes were loose.

You guys go on ahead, I want to see this place a bit more, Cas said.

Alright, we'll save you a seat, Anika said.

As he kneeled down to tie his shoes he heard a crashing sound.

What are you doing!? Someone said.

He looked to see a girl in a white outfit scolding Ruby.

Uh... sorry, she said.

Sorry? Do you have any idea of the damage you could've caused? The girl said.

She then grabbed a box from the ground to open it.

This is dust mined and purified from the Schnee Quarry, she said as Ruby was getting up.

What are you, brain dead? The girl said until she pulled a vial of red dust leaked out of it.

Fire, Water, Lightning, energy! She said, shaking the vial.

As the red dust floated towards Ruby, Cas got in front of her and inhaled the dust cloud.

AH that's the stuff, Cas said.

Are- what the! You inhaled the dust! The girl said.

Just as Cas was about to speak he began coughing fire from his mouth.

Ah, red is fire, I understand now, ACHOOO! Cas exclaimed as the dust around them reacted to his sneeze.

Unbelievable! This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about! The girl said.

Hey, it's not my fault that you were shaking a leaking vial, Cas said.

Ugh you complete dolt! What are you two even doing here? Aren't you a little young to be attending a beacon, and you, why are you here? I don't see you handling combat! The girl scolded.

That's part of my mystery, now move along kid, Cas said.

She's actually an heiress, some else said, catching their attention to a girl wearing black.

Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world, the girl added.

Finally, some recognition! Weiss said.

The same company infamous for controversial labor forces and questionable business partners, the girl said.

What? How dare- weiss said.

Oh muckraker, quite a smooth shot, Cas said.

Weiss then took the vial of fire dust from the girl's hand and stormed off.

Hey thanks- Cas said until he and Ruby noticed the girl in black was walking away.

Just then ruby laid in the ground feeling sad.

Having a tough time making friends? Cas asked.

Yeah, Ruby said.

Just then a memory came to Cas' head.

He then sat down next to her.

I get the feeling, I went through it too, Cas said.

Just then they noticed someone was offering his hand to Ruby.

Hey... I'm Jaune, the boy said.

Ruby, she said, grabbing his hand to which he helped her up.

Wait a minute, you're the guy who couldn't take the flight, Cas said.

They then began having a walk and talk section, Jaune talked to them about motion sickness, introduction of Cas' Amnesia, their weaponry, and past. Till they realized they were going nowhere.

Cas made five new friends, took his first time learning outside things and events he had never known or remembered.
