"Ok so we're here because you heard them Pogues talking about the possibility of jewels and shit?"

Barry and I arrived at the docks and abandoned the motorcycles. I'm leading the way to my boat. The plan is to hide in the back of the boat as stowaways, then steal the coordinates for ourselves when we get the chance. A plan for revenge that will sting the most. They will be beyond torn when they find out all this turned out to be a bust, because me and Barry will get those jewels first.

"Listen Barry, El Dorado was a possibility, and that ended up being true, so don't try to bullshit me. I know what I'm doing, and so do the Pogues. No c'mon."

I grab Barry's arm and yank him out of the way. I see all the Pogues at the end of the pier standing next my my boat. I can hear their faint voices.
I look to Barry and whisper.

"Follow me."

I go around to the side of the boat and and hop on. I go down the stairs and together we crouch behind some boxes in hull. I can hear the Pogues even better now, and it sounds like they're arguing.

"We need the cable, otherwise the signal won't work. What if we're in trouble?" Sarah asked.

"I think we could just go to the surf shop and get one right?"

"With what money?" Someone asks.

"Pope, since when do we need money when we have me?" JJ asks.

"Ok so we should go make a distraction and get a cable. Sarah, you should go back to Tannyhill and see if there's on there."

"I'll stay here at the boat. Keep an eye on all the stuff."

"I'll go with Sarah. Pope, you go with JJ and John B." Cleo said.

"Sounds good."

"You sure your good staying here alone, Kie?" JJ asks.

"I can handle myself Jayj don't worry." She says.

"Ok, let's go then."

I hear their footsteps as they step off the boat.

Someone, I assume Kiara, is walking around the boat, floorboards creaking beneath her steps.
I have to act. Now.

"Barry follow my lead." I whisper.

I jump out from behind the crates and boxes and so does Barry, who has a knife in his hand. Kiara screams and falls back.

"Hi again, Kiara."

Barry goes to the door and blocks the way out. I can see the fear on her face, and it's invigorating.
"Rafe, what the fuck." She hisses. I smile.

"It's nice to see you too." She gets back up onto her feet and glances at the exit, but she sees Barry blocking it.

"Ok listen up Kie. You betrayed me in the Barbados." I took a step closer to her. "But I just wanna talk to you."
She clenches her jaw.

"Kie, you can make it up to me. You wanna know how?"

She says nothing, just continues to look me in the eyes. "You can take me to Blackbeards trove."
She laughs.

"Rafe, I don't owe you anything."

In the corner of my eye, I see Barry creeping closer. I ignore him.

"Oh yes you do, Kie."

Suddenly Barry grabbed her from behind and brought the white handkerchief to her face.

"BARRY WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?"

I yelled at him. There was nothing in the plan that would've led to this.

"SAVING YOUR ASS, RAFE!"

Kiara fell to the floor, unconscious. Barry turned her around and pulled a small paring knife from her clenched fist.

"Doesn't seem to be too trustworthy." Barry sighed.

I can't help but feel a pang of disappointment and anger. Who does she think she is?

She's a Pogue after all. Deep down, this is how all of them are.

I look around the deck. Resting on top of a crate, I see a few yellowed pages. I go over to them and behind to flip through them. Sure enough, there are coordinates written on the second page.

"Barry, this is where we have to go. This is where the jewels are-"

"You mean that's where you have to go." Barry interrupted.

"What?"

"Rafe," he said, taking a step closer to me. "Rafe I... I've been burned way too many times by these Pogues. Blackbeard? He's not even real bro. I'm done with these treasure hunts. We have the gold from the cross, and as cool as they sound bro that's just it. Too good to be true."

"So first, you fuck yo the plan, then you abandon the plan?" I whisper. I'm a second away from becoming extremely dangerous.

"Get the hell out Barry."

"I'm sorry Rafe." He sighs, and climbs out the exit onto the deck and jumps onto the dock.

"Good luck on you're fucking quest." And with that, Barry walks away.

I knew he wouldn't stick with it. He doesn't have the guts.

I look down at the unconscious Kiara. When she wakes up she's gonna be kicking and screaming.

I open up one of the crates trying to look for something to hold her with. Temporarily, just until she decides to cooperate. Something tells me she won't as soon as she wakes up.

This crate is just filled with canned foods. I open up the box next to it... jackpot. It's filled with shawls and scarves. They belonged to Rose I think. I can't imagine my dad needing them for anything.

She's already lying face down, so I tie her hands behind her back. I tie her ankles together, then I gently turn her over. I can't figure out why I'm being so gentle, I shouldn't care this much.
It's because she has the information. I need her to do this with me. I have to be careful.

I tear one of the shawls in half. I ball up one half and stuff it in her mouth, then I tie the other around her head to keep it in place. I know she'll be screaming up a storm after she wakes up.

I don't need Barry. I am perfectly capable of doing this myself.
