CHAPTER THIRTY
Violet and Ellie stood quickly, Violet pointing the gun at David, and Ellie aiming the gun at James, who walked forward a shot gun in his hands. David spoke through gritted teeth,
"James, lower the gun."
James snapped back, as he thought about the people they had killed, Violet only did it to protect them, they came at them.
"They are the ones that killed Alec and Brian, isn't she?"
David turned to him pleading him to not shoot the gun, James exchanged a look with David before lowering his gun, Violet snapping,
"Did you bring the medicine?"
David nodded for James to answer he nodded but protested, David ordering him quickly,
"Throw it to her."
James protested as they stepped slightly forward, Violet shouting almost growling as they stepped back quickly,
"Back away."
Violet and Ellie walked backwards watching them closely as she picked up the antibiotics, leaving as David called out causing Violet to scoff.
"I know you're not with a group. You won't survive for long out there. I can protect you."
They ran as fast as they could back to the horses as they sped to get back to Joel, Violet tried to hide their tracks but needed to get back to Joel, They dropped the horse of in the garage, Violet hugging Ellie quickly before running down to check on Joel. Violet knelt down next to Joel, she missed his voice, his eyes, his laugh, he had to be okay. He would be.
Violet inserted the needle into the penicillin draw as she watched Ellie take his hand, she smiled softly at Violet, Violet looked down and put the needle into his wound and inserted the antibiotics. Joel grunted as Violet kissed his forehead and talked to him,
"You're going to be okay, baby and when you wake up i'm going to kiss you so hard that i faint. I miss you—"
Ellie laid down and cuddled into Joel rested her head on his shoulder, worry bubbling in her stomach, Violet stayed awake keen to be on watch, she slept last night and pretty well considering. She would be just fine.
