This is going to be a long chapter, as it involves two songs. Enjoy!

This was it- the finale. Alli against Jason. It seemed like we all were on the edge of our seats as Mary made her way to the audience and Ms. Davis announced the final round.

"Alright everyone, this is it! What happens this round will decide who gets to be in the high school choir!" The audience cheered for the two. "Now, for this last round, I asked them to write and compose their own songs about the other contestant, as well as their experience in this audition process. It seems as the two knew they would be in the finale, as they composed a love song addressed to each other. How romantic!" The audience sighed. "We are going to let Jason go first. Take it away!"

A soft piano and guitar strum filled the room, and a spotlight shone on Jason, giving him an almost innocent light. I scoffed at the irony as he started to sing.

When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
Well, there's so much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?

Well, I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find

'Cause even the stars, they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay, I'm here to make the difference that I can make
Our differences, they do a lot to teach us how to use the tools and gifts
We got, yeah, we got a lot at stake
And in the end, you're still my friend, we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bed without the world caving in
I had to learn what I got, and what I'm not
And who I am

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
I'm still looking up
Well, I won't give up on us
God knows I'm tough enough
We got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

The room was silent until the last chord sounded, and everyone applauded. Jason gave a sinister grin as he handed his mic back to Ms. Davis, who smiled back.

"That was beautiful, Jason! Next up is Allisun who's love song is just as-"

"It's not a love song."

There were several gasps in the room as Allisun spoke, and I gave one as soon as I realized. Allisun turned to the whole room. "This is not a love song to Jason. It's a song about my experience in this audition, yes, and it's a song towards him, but it's not a love song. There are nine other girls in this room. You know who you are. I'd like you to make your way up to the stage."

Ms. Davis whispered something to Allisun as nine girls walked onstage next to her, while Jason stared in horror. Ms. Davis finally nodded. "While I don't understand fully what is going on, I'll let it slide this once. Take it away!" Music started, and Allisun immediately began to sing, staring at Jason with menace.

So you say you really miss me?
Well, that makes me laugh
'Cause you miss the way I let you walk all over me
Broke every bone in my back
