—————- Percy's POV: —————-

We met again a few months later.

"FuCK!" I yelled. Jumping to the side as a flaming arrow landed right where I'd been moments before. Jason would be happy to know my vocabulary had improved.

I pulled the lid off a trash can as I turned so sharply I could feel my sneakers lose traction beneath them and I slipped slightly but I caught myself. In a move I swear you'd see in some cool action movie I turned, throwing the trash can lid like a frisbee, I watched as it soared and I could only imagine what came from the thick cluncking noise as I was already turned back around and was continuing to race down the street side.

"DAMN DEMIIS!" It screeched, "FALL VICTIM TO LOVE ONCE MORE!!!" I shivered at it's sickly sweet tone even in pain. Cupid made a mistake making those love robots, the creepy things ran around with bows pulled back at all times. I'd learned the hard way that some came with "Flamming love" mode, which really put some spice into your romance.

I had maybe a minute more before Riptide would spawn back in my pocket, I'd thrown it last at one of those terrifying creatures, it split one of their heads right in half earning a short yell from a woman nearby. I paid it no mind of course, she'd probably forget it in a few days anyways. I hope so at least.

Another arrow whisleted by my ear, I watched a tuft of hair race behind me and flow into the wind. I turned back to see it was gaining on me once more.

Now, cupid's creations were hard to describe. It was like if a kid tried to throw together scraps of marble, machinery, and paper mache in an attempt to make a statue, some arms were longer than others and the one chasing me now had a dent in it's head from the trash can lid, as well as a caved in chest for some reason I could not explain, it's arm pulled back another arrow and i let out a yelp as I ducked, the arrow racing over me.

"Screw off! I'm not interested in love!" I yelled back, going back to running as I looked around for an exit. I'd tried standing my ground and fighting but I'd nearly been impaled by an arrow and the stick stuck in my calf was no small joke, seriously, I'd been shot a few blocks back and I can't say it's been doing me any favors.

I turned quickly, pushing through a group of people. I knew I was heading towards the sketchier part of town, I'd been in town today for some supplies, I'd ran out of spaghetti and I was going to try and make some tonight but I'd been caught off guard by these stupid things. Thankfully I'd not left behind any food since I'd not bought any.

I could see I was coming towards a lot of alleys, maybe I could hold my ground, sneak attack him if I hide behind some trash cans.

Seeing as though this was the only course of action I could think of I did a side step as another arrow shot by scaring a woman ahead of us as she ran into the closest building. I wished I could do the same but the idea of putting mortals in danger didn't make me feel better about the situation I was in now.

I took in a deep breath as I ignored the pain I was in and raced faster, if I could put a bit more space in between us I could come up with a better plan or, even better, I could lose him entirely.

Then I heard the shot. My eyes widened as a woman raced into the middle of the side walk, gun held out as she shot countless shots at the beast, she yelled at me to hurry as she continued to load shots into it, but I knew they would do no damage.

It was Talia, the woman I'd seen earlier this year in the woods. She'd left me the majority of the supplies I still use now. Her hair flowed beautifully in the non-existent wind, I mean seriously, she looked like she was straight out of an action movie. I got a few feet in front of her when she ran out of bullets, she cursed as she tossed her gun at the monster, it let out a horrific screech.
