An Assassin's Guide to Family

---------- Percy's POV: -----------

"Welcome my young pupil!!" Arthur slapped my back so hard I swear I heard a crack. I side eyed him, biting my tongue as we both knew full well I could take him one on one and have quite the amazing chance at absolutely murdering him. "I shall introduce you to your new teammates! I'm sure you will all get along just fine!" Arthur smiled bright, the look making me feel slightly uncomfortable. I mean, seriously, who's teeth were that white?? I mean, definitely Apollo, but damn, it was like Arthur was taking lessons or something on the best dental hygiene. 

I nodded, walking slightly further away from Arthur now as to save my back from any more abuse. "I'll try for sure." I mumbled, giving Arthur a hesitant smile. I wasn't sure if he knew if I was related to some of the members of the team but I didn't care to broach that subject now when we were expected so soon in the cave. 

He chuckled and smacked my back again, another bone loosening from it's intended spot. I groaned quietly, we both knew he was really taking advantage of my father's leniency- or rather as I have now concluded- punishment. 

We walked into what had to be a tube of sorts, my molecules shifting and loosing shape before suddenly reappearing in what I imagined to look like the inside of a high tech battery that led to a cave, a group of teens lined up there accompanied by three familiar faces, I smiled lightly as Tim gave me a curt nod of encouragement.  

((An: I will admit I am guilty of not watching till the end of Young justice so I don't know much outside of the og group *spoiler warning ahead *I kinda stopped watching after I heard Wally died sooooo yeah, that's why I'm gonna do a combo of the newest and old group as a way to keep people I know but also not be entirely irrelevant lollll))

At the end of the group there were some people I recognized, Aqualad was at the very end, his eyes glimmering with a wistfulness I was a bit embarrassed to be receiving, beside him was Wally with his familiar smile, followed by Artemis, then Connor and Me'gan, the two holding hands, then began the new, with a kid who was entirely green, a kid who looked kinda like a bug if I really squinted, a guy with a shaved head and red outfit mocking green arrow's look, and ending off with Tim and Dick, the two watching me with smiles. 

Arthur introduced them all for them, going down the row before clapping. "Everyone!" Arthur announced proudly, placing a hand on my shoulder as we stopped in front of them. "This is my niece-" I stopped him, elbowing him in the side. If I was going to make my first appearance I would not be mocked. 

"tell them the truth idiot." I whispered quietly. 

"should I tell your father?" he retorted. I narrowed my eyes at him. He did the same back. I think we came to a mutual agreement that I wouldn't devastate his organs and he wouldn't tell my dad anything. "Fine." He grumbled, turning back to the group who now looked bewildered. "This is my technical superior, Riptide, while yes, technically within our mer-society she holds superiority. On the team though, I am her superior, so don't take shit from her got it?" Everyone let out hesitant nods and affirmations as they assessed me with more caution now. "good, now do your thing." he grumbled, stepping to the side for me to introduce myself. I smiled as I took a step forward. 

"Hi, I'm Riptide and I'll be kinda sorta joining you. I am mainly here to act as a mentor, not necessarily to complete missions with you...no matter how much I wish to, but that's not the point. I have fought many dangerous battles, and I have thorough experience in various weapons and fighting styles...except bows, you guys are on your own for that one. Aside from that, I hope to be of some use to you all!" I smiled. I was trying to act more polite as Talia had taught me to do, not all my traits from assassin-hood have washed away yet, so I intended to use them while I could.
