I Promise

Adriana's P.O.V.

Strolling right into the lavish building, I dashed through the masses of people and opened the swung the door leading to the employee room. Anna was present inside, texting furiously like she was in a marathon. She rather neglected my presence until I decided to speak up.

"Hey, slow down. Think of the poor phone, you selfish monster." I joked and she almost jumped, frightened. She glared at me for a second then resumed to using her device.

"What's the rush?" I simply inquired as I hung my coat.

"It's just my mom, she's been on my back lately. I don't even know what her problem is? 'Anna, where have you been?' 'Anna, why are you late?' 'Anna, where the hell are the spices?' " she imitated her birth giver in a deep,  masculine and harsh tone of voice.

"If that's really how your mom sounds like, then I don't want to hear your dad." she cracked a crooked smile and walked over to my direction. She stopped when her phone suddenly buzzed. Her eyes flicked over to the screen and a red hue masked her cheeks.

'A boy toy, huh?' I thought as I smirked. The teasing shall begin.

"Anna, oh Anna, is there a certain someone making you turn as red as a tomato?" she chewed on her bottom lip for a couple of seconds, debating whether she should dare to spill or not.

"Okay, fine! His name's Cooper, he goes to your school," she mumbled shyly, in a barely audible tone whilst locking eyes with the floor.

"Ooooo, so you've been doing the frickle frackle. No wonder your mom's acting the way she is." her emerald irises immediately resembled saucer plates. She lightly smacked my arm and I chuckled.

I wasn't even a tiny bit baffled by the fact she had a lover. Anna was uniquely breathtaking; her ever so long golden shimmering hair and jade like eyes were irresistible. Any guy would climb mountains and swim oceans to have a shot with a girl like her.

"Cooper is just perfect! I couldn't ask for anything better." she blushed one more and I smiled. I was happy that she was capable of finding someone that had the ability to make her turn as red as a bright tomato by a simple text. Couples usually irritated me, and I was in no way close to being jealous. The PDA was immensely revolting! I was incapable of imagining myself being all lovey dovey with a male specimen. Every time I pictured myself with one, I would laugh and cringe.

I excused myself and exited the room. I started walking around the area and decided on exploring the premises. The building never failed to amuse me. I ascended the long stairs and was about to make contact with the handles but then stopped myself. They were gold plated and me touching them would be considered a crime! When I arrived at the top, I took a left to only have my jaw hit the floor from the view across. I couldn't even muster the words to describe what was in front of me. In all my years in this city, never have I ever encountered such a breathtaking view.

I heard a deep manly voice shout from a room down the hall. Being the curious and nosy person I was, I followed the voice to only stop in front of a large door. I brought my ear closer to the door and listened closely.

"She has to be gone!" the guy hissed, fury lacing his deep voice.

"No, Ryder. She's staying! I don't care what childish thing happened between you two, but that is no excuse to have her fired. Are you insane? We need all the help we can get plus she seems like an alright girl." As I predicted, they were having a discussion about me.
