Chapter 27: Envy

"Yes! Kaso mag s-celebrate ba yon si sir? No'ng huli wala rin eh." It's our lunch time and I decided to eat with ate Ice with our co-workers. They're talking about our Boss's upcoming birthday. How old is he turning ba? 28? 29? Or 30?"Siguro family family lang din yan, sila sila lang siguro ayaw ni Sir ng malaking party party eh." I agree. Nagmadali na lang din kaming kumain at para maka balik na agad sa trabaho.

Nang matapos ay nag si balikan na din ang ilan sa trabaho, while I was on my way up, I bumped into Eros dad. "Tito? Ey hi Michael." Kasama nito ang cute na bubuwit. I smiled as pinch his cheek lightly, hawak nito ang robot na laruan. "Oh, mi amor. I was actually looking for you, I didn't call cause I know you never really leave the company." We both chuckled at that.

"Si Tito, bakit po pala?" He smiled and tap my shoulder. "Ah, kase Eros's birthday is coming. I wanted to celebrate it with our alliance, business partners and family, friends sana. Kaso I can't do it alone since I have so much on my plate..." I nodded slowly, I get it. "Can I ask a favor?" Walang pasabing tumango ako. "Okay lang po."

"Can you organized the party? Don't worry I'll send my secretary to help, also wala ng problem sa venue. Ang kulang lang ay organizers." I nodded briefly. "Yeah, sure sure. No problem with that, I'll do my best! It's honor." His smile grew wider. "Wow, then that is great! Aasahan kita, thank you very much dear."

I was at high energy the whole day, so excited to go home and make a plan, for Eros's birthday celebration for the next next week.

"Hey, why are you all smile huh?" Eros just got out of its office, he noticed my smile. I shook my head firmly. "Wala naman po, uh do you need something?" Pitik iyon sa kan'ya at biglang lumapad ang ngiti sa labi. "Oh! Great, we have this ads na dapat I shoot sa isang province vibe. Now, you have to come with me there so we can personally see the beauty of the nature."

"We'll be staying there for like weeks?" My jaw dropped, I can't stay there for a week! I have a big task to do! I played with my fingers and look away. "Ah eh, uhm... Di po ba pwedeng kayo na lang yan... Ah ahm E-eros?"

But he just look at me darkly, intently.

"Ah oo sabi ko nga bawal hehe..." Awkward akong ngumiti at tumango. "Sige po, opo sasama ako. Hihi." Shit! So paano ko yun magagawa! For a week? Edi I have a week lang to plan the event? Omg we have to send invitation pa to others! Kung bakit ba naman sumabay pa yan eh.

"Okay and cut! Good job guys!" Everyone clasps their hands with their big smiles. While I was away, I asked for ate Ice help to organize the party. She sent the invitations to the guests and invited people. Thank god she was there, I told her everything. The theme and suggestions for the foods and all. She can definitely do everything alone or with Tito's secretary but I didn't know why did she have to ask me. But I helped anyway.

"Nice, ang galing mo talaga Mitchell!" Tumayo ang director at lumapit sa sopistikadang babae. Maganda, matangkad at maputi. I suddenly envy her. Ang ganda ganda n'ya at mala dyosa. "Oh, of course Daryl hindi ko naman magagawang biguin ka at syempre..." Dumako ang mata nito kay Eros at malagkit na ngumiti. "Si Eros..." The awkward silence fell.

"Hmm, I smell something fishy ha? Mga tinginan nyo ha..." Daryl had the guts to break the silence. Yeah, I noticed that also. Kanina na rin tahimik si Eros. Mga palitan nila ng tingin, ang paraan ng pag tingin ni Eros. Kakaiba.

"A-ah ha, ano ka ba..." Bumungisngis si Miss Mitchell at nahihiyang nag iwas na ng tingin. A staff approach her to whisper something and she nodded. I took the moment to gaze on Eros who's still quite beside me. Malayo na ang tingin n'ya at tulala. Nag tingin tingin ako sa paligid nang mapadpad ang mata sa ice box sa tabi, kumuha ako ng maiinom at inabot yon sa kan'ya. He look at it then to me bago tanggapin. "Thanks."

"A-ayos ka lang ba?"

"Ah oo. Ah teka, kausapin ko lang si Mika tas alis na tayo." Saad na lang nito at tumango na rin lang ako. Mika is the head organizer for this production.

It took him an hour.

Iba na pala ang kausap. But I waited until he's done, tahimik na lang kami sa sasakyan pa punta sa hotel na pinag i-istayan namin. We part ways silently. We didn't even eat our dinner together. I wonder what is up with him? Or who is she in his life?

Kinabukasan tanghali na ako nang magising. Wala ng gagawin ngayon at mamasyal lang sana, mamayang gabi naman flight na namin pa balik ng manila. Bumangon ako mula sa pag kaka hilata at nag tungo sa banyo upang maligo na rin ng maaga.

I heard a knock from the door, binalot ko ng tuwalya ang buhok at binuksan ang pinto. "Hey, you wanna go outside?" Iyon ang salubong ni Sir Eros sa akin. "Naku, mukhang hindi na po ako sasama kung ma aari at aayusin ko pa ang mga gamit ko? Hindi ko na kase na ayos kagabi." He nodded the took a breath.

"Okay then, mag pa room service ka na lang. I'll just meet with Greg and Trevor." Tumango naman ako at ngumiti. He stood there for a moment then finally took a step away.

I exhale loudly. I locked the door and went back to what I was doing. I brush my hair thoughoutly and stared at my face in the mirror. Maga ang mata sa puyat at pagod. Nag kaka-pimple na rin pala ako, haist.

Pagkatapos mag bihis ay inayos ko na rin ang mga gamit ko, checked on his sched and then take a call from manila. Everything is settled. Ate Ice told me na natawagan na raw n'ya ang Papa ni Eros. I thanked her before ending the phone call.

Mabilis rin ang mga pangyayare, alas dos din ay dumating na rin si Eros at may dala pang paper bags may laman ng mga regalo para sa kay Michael at Papa nito. He also handed me a paper bag. May box itong laman, I thanked him of course. He did fix himself first and ready himself for our flight way back home.

Gabi na rin ng maka uwi kami sa sariling bahay tuluyan. I rested my self after taking a shower. I slept peacefully that night.
