[Chapter Two: Stalker] ~(Y/n)'s POV~

***

I followed closely after Nightmare, watching the back of his lumbering body. I shivered in my thin jumpsuit, rubbing my black sleeved arms as I looked up. We were now in a abandoned part of the city, heading to the place which had been my home before I was forced to endure the cruel experiments I still go through to this day. The cold wind flew against me, almost as it was forcing me back to the military base.

I didn't want to back... But sadly I still had to.

There was a chip in both of our bodies, a tracker inside our necks. We could stay out of the military base for only a few hours before they noticed I was gone, then they would send a electric shock to our chips to knock us unconscious and track us down. It had already happened once before. I was sure I had lost a few brain cells because of that.

"We are almost there Master. Only a few blocks more." Nightmare said abrutly, breaking the silence.

I nodded, my arms crossed over my chest in an attempt to block out the bitter cold. Our walk was spent in silence. It would have been increasingly odd if someone had passed to find a girl in a jail jumpsuit and a black large wolf leading the way. I'm sure that would not have fallen well with the citizens of this city.

After a few minutes, Nightmare froze, and my idiotic self ran right into him. "Nightmare!" I snapped angrily, my pale fists curled into my sides.

"Terribly sorry Master... but it seems as if there are four large... Creatures inside our apartment." Nightmare responded relevantly calmly.

"What?" I froze, my (e/c) eyes turning large as I looked up at the apartment building. We were in a terrible, abandoned part of New York City. The apartment complex that we had inhabited was barely standing, half of the building had already collapsed years ago. But what really caught my eye was the two lumbering... unreal bodies moving around in the small apartment.

Nightmare turned to face me, his electric blue eyes flickering with determination. "Please, let me take them down Master." He said cooly, his large black right paw gently scraping against the cracked concrete.

For a moment I pondered this, staring up through the small window, a gust of wind blowing against my hair. "No." I abruptly said, cracking my knuckles.

"Let's take them down together.... because whatever is in there- is not human."

Nightmare nodded, turning around as he gently walked towards the apartment. I followed him, opening the well oiled door silently to let him and myself inside. It was a long stairwell to go up to the highest level, the place where our 'home' was located at. Nightmare had already started, gently going up the steps, not making a sound.

I followed him, being careful not to slip or make noise. The metal was rusted, wet from the cold wet night. I strained to hear the voices that had suddenly come to my notice. Muffled they were, yes, but I hoped to hear what they were talking about. No, I was not noisy, only curious.

After a few minutes, we approached the last level. I opened the door once more, wincing as a small moan came from the door.

The voices became silent.

"Hurry." I whispered to Nightmare, my voice fleeting like the wind. He gave me a swift nod, racing towards the apartment door and bashing his large body against it. The door slammed open, having no chance against the heavy weight of a full grown male wolf.

"Stop!" I cried, racing in to stare at the two intruders.

What I saw- didn't surprise me at all. Turtles. Ninja. Vigilantes.

I was a part of an experiment that was trying to recreate those... monsters...

The only power I had was a broken mind.

The two intruders were about the same size. One has blue eyes, and the other green eyes. The color of their eyes went well with the color of their masks and skin.

"Turtles." Spat Nightmare quietly, his eyes flashing a deathly red.

"Down Night." I said in a soothing voice, bending down my hand to gently stroke his mane.

"Can you speak?" I asked, an eyebrow raised as I gently tilted my chin upward.

"Yes we can, ma'am." Said the one with the blue mask, obviously the polite one.

I forced a smile, tilting my head. "Good good... now- you have the ability to answer my question. Why are you in our apartment?"

"Our?" Asked the red masked turtle.

"Yes ours." I explained impatiently, crossing my arms over my chest.

"That... wolf lives with ya?"

"Yes I do turtle." Nightmare announced loudly, his eyes still a cruel blood red.

Their eyes widened in surprise as they turned their gaze downward to Nightmare.

Nightmare smiled, showing off his glistening sharp teeth. "You are not the only animal that has the ability to speak." He crooned as I applauded in my head his well formatted remark.

"Now- I am going to ask you one more time. Why, are you in our apartment?"

"Well... We were told Miss, that there were traces of Kranng mutagen here at this location... Our brother must've been wrong." Said the polite one.

I nodded, though my eyes hid my discomfort. Mutagen? Why did that sound so familiar? "Yes. He must have."

"Can I have your name? Just in case I do bump into you again." I said, my hand sliding over my wrist to cover the branded tattoo of my jail number.

"Um... I'm Leonardo, but call me Leo. And this is-"

"Raphael. Raph." The red masked one said sharply, as he seemed to be having an intense staring contest with Nightmare.

I bit back back a smile, and nodded. "I'm (Y/n), and this is my companion Nightmare."

Nightmare growled his hello.

"Nice to meet you (Y/n), again, sorry for barging into your apartment." Leonardo said apologetically as I gently smiled at him. So sincere. So different from the pervert like guards in the government jail cell.

"Let's go Raph." He murmured to his 'twin'. Raphael stayed silent, staring down Nightmare until he slowly moved to a window, opening it, and jumped out.

For a moment, I met Leonardo's eyes. They were so beautiful and unique, making my eyes look like absolute nothing. He smiled as I smiled back for a moment- before I remembered who I was and frowned.

Then, like a shadow, he was gone.
